Opened on December 13, 2014 (yes, 12/13/14!) in a historic building at the corner of Woodward and Canfield. The Huma Room on the second floor features half of a black 1973 Cadillac Fleetwood mounted behind the wall and an outdoor patio. Located on Woodward Ave, it's easy to jump on the QLine or walk down to Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, or Ford Field.

HopCat was founded on the principles of bringing local craft beer a bit closer to the communities we love. We’re known for our award-wining Cosmik fries, which are beer battered, sprinkled with our signature cracked black pepper seasoning, and served with a side of warm cheese sauce. From burgers to tacos, our menu offers a range of delicious options.

We live the craft lifestyle - beer, cocktails and even craft food made from scratch. With a dedication to local breweries, sustainability and community engagement, HopCat offers craft beer and great food in a vibrant atmosphere for an inclusive, unforgettable experience.

We booked our reservation for 11 at 11am through Open Table and it was very easy. I loved this feature as our family was visiting Detroit for an afternoon Tigers game. Everything about our experience was great! Keesha was our server and she was so kind and knowledgeable. She was on it with all of our needs and patient as half of our party was a little late. Our only complaint was that two other parties of 12+ also booked at the exact same time and they put all three parties back-to-back in the same exact room. It go so loud, so fast that we could not even hear the people sitting right next to us. The restaurant seemed rather large, so I wish they would have separated us from the other parties so that we could have a greater overall experience.

I’ve been to Hop Cat before in another location and had a good experience. This was rough. We came and weren’t greeted for 15 minutes. I had to ask the host if they had a server. After she said she would let the server know, it was another five minutes. Then, they were out of waffles at 11 am on a Saturday … Food was pretty good overall.

The server was not very welcoming and kind of forgetful. He wasn’t the best and didn’t do a great job. He did not deliver how we expected.

Everything was good. Especially fun was this burger with a whole breakfast in it! I also love all the black light paintings of iconic singers.

This visit was just OK. I normally go during the week and happened to go in during Sunday brunch hours. Ordered the sausage, breakfast biscuit, and the chicken and waffles. Both were very mediocre. My husband had to keep applying syrup to the breakfast sandwich because it was so dry, and my waffles were like sponges that were not delicious, and the chicken was fried too dry on too high heat (I cook). The best thing about my meal was the bloody Mary and the fries. I’m going to stick to the chicken nachos when I go.

Food and table service was very good. But restrooms need to be maintained a lot better. Maybe it was a labor shortage.

I really didn't get to enjoy my time there. Apparently the air conditioning was stuck on high with the host told us it was freezing, but our food was set on the table. We were ice cold and ready to go kind of sucks cause it was our first time going and we really wanted to enjoy it heard a lot about it but we were literally in 30° weather inside there when you're freezing

I have to hand it to the lady at the hostess stand yesterday. It was crazy, people everywhere , walk ins trying to get a table but she kept her cool and was very nice. It took longer than usual to get seated even with a reservation, but everyone, hostess, waitress and anyone else we encountered was very nice in a chaotic atmosphere
