Nothing quite captures the spirit of a Cornish summer than following a summertime dip in its azure waters with a plate of lusciously fresh local seafood. Happily, that's just the experience to be found here at Hooked on the Rocks, which is just yards from the shore of Swanpool beach near Falmouth.

Visit to experience local, sustainable seafood such as Falmouth Bay scallops, Falmouth Bay lobster or crab, whole fish from Newlyn Fish Market or a Shellfish Platter to share, all designed to satiate the appetite of any sandy‑toed gourmet.

Dogs are welcome in our heated awning area or on our sea view terrace.

Have used this restaurant for many years and always received excellent service and good value food. We were married at the venue 18 years ago and always go back on our anniversary. Unfortunately last evening was a bit of a let down primarily with the service. We were made to wait on arrival, had to wait for 40 minutes until our drinks order was taken and after asking a couple of times a further 20 minutes for ice to accompany them. The food was good as always and could not be faulted. The quickest part of the service was when the bill arrived and on departure no acknowledgment from the manager was given to us. I’m sure this is a one off but still disappointing from a local customer.

We’d seen this place served amazing food and really wanted to try it. So we booked a table outside however on arrival we were told ‘there’s none available’ and there’s ‘no spare inside’ therefore we got plonked in a ‘booth’. It was a makeshift table in our opinion we could hardly get in and out it was awkward to sit at, we had to sit up right we couldn’t lean back and neither of us had a good view. The staff we stood right in front of us at the bar the whole time which was rather off putting and ruined the privacy of our meal. We felt like we were being watched in the naughty corner or something. Food was fantastic but the seating arrangement just ruined our evening especially after booking and being willing to pay a lot more money to stay longer than we did.

Went twice this week and the food was exceptional as usual. The squid and lobster last night was probably the best lobster I have tasted even at Hooked on the Rocks. The new Cornish sparkling wine was very palatable. Maybe a better more varied wine choice could be considered.

Absolutely delicious meal, we had the Hot Seafood platter and added a whole lobster. Everything was cooked perfectly and the garlic aioli was to die for! The service was great and even though we were sat outside they were still attentive and checked in on us! The location with views over the bay makes this a must try location for seafood lovers!

Even though my wife dislikes seafood this is out most visited restaurant in Falmouth, in the 3 years we have lived here. It's the first place we take friends and family to eat. We love it here. The team are fantastic.

Really great food, but we waited quite a while for drinks and the food, with other tables near us seeming to overtake us.

Hooked on the Rocks in my mind is the best fish restaurant in Cornwall. We tend to go for any special treats or business dinners as it simply is the best place to go. The service is always amazing and friendly, the food is top class, lo cal, fresh and eveyrthing you want for a great night out.
