Hook + Line is a hospitality forward concept new to Boston’s Seaport neighborhood by Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli.

We are a full service sit down New England Seafood restaurant + bar featuring a wood-fired grill serving lunch, brunch + dinner.

    Join us on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 6:00 PM for an unforgettable evening with Robert Bodenstein + Sophie-Helen Hinterhölzl coupled with an exquisite reception into a 4-course dinner by Chef Patrick Lipscomb. World Cultural Heritage coupled with an Austrian landscape that is nothing short of inspirational—welcome to the Wachau, the narrow Danube River Valley running from Melk to Krems. Extraordinarily distinctive wines grow on 1,344 hectares, a great many of them on steeply terraced hillsides, wines which may be declared as “Wachau DAC” as of the 2020 vintage. Some of the world’s greatest white wines, with decades of potential for development, are produced from the best vineyard sites, especially from Grüner Veltliner + Riesling.

    Put it this way… the highlight was that our water glass was never empty. Other than that, the experience wasn’t great. At one point, we went 45 minutes with no visit from our server, (the restaurant was busy, but still!) which meant empty wine glasses and no food. The entrees left something to be desired with the fish on the plate, sauced in a similar way even though they were supposed to be different, and no side accompaniments to be found. In my opinion, this restaurant was not worth the money spent.

    Service was SLOW. Some food came out cold and mine came out dry on a scalding plate having sat under heat lamp too long. Waiter was super forgetful. They obviously overeat the restaurant and the kitchen couldn’t keep up. We didn’t get much of what we asked for in a timely manner. Clam chowder was pretty good. Everything else was either horrible or just meh. Left hungry and feeling ripped off. Super noisy too. Manager comped part of our meal, but it was still not worth what we paid. Never again. OCT 2024 dinner

    We sat at the bar for drinks, appetizer and dinner. The brown sugar crab dip was spectacular as were the oysters, and Bronzini whole fish. The scallops on the other dish were a bit small but good. The side of Thai corn was not so great and they did credit the bill. Service and awesomeness were provided by the great bartenders!!

    Newish restaurant in Seaport. Great , fresh and creative seafood including the traditional Boston fare. Oysters and fried clams are outstanding. Sufficient offerings for non seafood eaters

    The food was fine. But we got there at 6pm, expecting to be finishing up by 7:30ish so we could get to our next obligation, a work event that was important for us to be at the end of, inside the same building the restaurant is located in. Well, half of us didn't make it - it took an hour and a half to get our food. We kept being assured by the waiter that it was coming, and then a manager came over and said our ticket was next (after an hour and fifteen minutes??). Because of the egregious delay, half of the party had to leave dinner early. One of us didn't even get to eat. It completely ruined our experience, and for the price, we expected much more hospitality. In the end, they actually OVERCHARGED us for bread - saying we got three instead of two. You'd think they'd comp some small things to apologize for the ruined meal. I was a waitress back in the day and I certainly would have. But the manager and waiter were avoiding us! It was obvious they were embarrassed but still wanted that full bill paid. We all ended up having to leave before we could speak to them about it because of our obligations. Very disappointing experience for the restaurant that shares the building with us. Will not be recommending in the future.

    It was lovely. We ate so much and it was amazing. Oysters- Amazing! Stuffies- Delicious Cod cheeks- Fantastic Scallops-Perfection Barrata- Fresh Drinks-Hit the spot A beautiful atmosphere and wonderful service- our server, bartender and busser were so attentive and friendly. Just an amazing experience all around.

    Generally good seafood quality but a little heavy on the sauces and salsas. They should let the seafood speak more for itself with flavorings on the side.
