Chef Wayne's full-service seafood restaurant, Hook & Anchor, has come to fruition after six successful years in the fast/casual sector. Using the freshest ingredients and fresh wild-caught fish has made himself a name in the Newport Beach (and surrounding areas).     The service, food and ambience is amazing. It’s a shame they don’t have more tables so more people can experience it!

    Our first time there for lunch. We sat at the bar and Neno was the bartender/server. And he was very friendly and attentive. Really nice guy! Everything was great! My husband had the cup of clam chowder which was a good size bowl - very good. He then had a 6 oz lobster roll which was amazing. He said the best ever! I had the Newport salad and a grilled mahi-mahi taco. Very good and plenty of food!!

    Was disappointed because I really wanted the lobster roll and the were out of lobster . Food was delicious and service was great

    Ivan was the best ! Very attentive and always checking on us to make sure everything was good! Everything 10/10!!! Of course the lobster roll and lobster Mac was the best thing i ordered ! I will be back to try everything else!

    The food was great, and Donnie was awesome. Unfortunately, our server, Eulyses, was not at his best. He forgot my cocktail, and I waited long to be served. But Donnie made up for it. We will definitely come back.

    Service was terrible! Lack of service from asking multiple times for an iced tea refill that we finally got up and went to the bar to get it ourselves, waited 45 minutes for a piece of bread. We ordered a steak and lobster dinner which he forgot to ask how it should prepared, to checking on our order which took an hour then it was dropped off without a steak knife and the lobster tail was no where in sight. We finally grabbed a manager who was amazing! She was so gracious, Kimberly said how can I make this better! We didn’t want anything except our meal after an hour. She insisted on making us the lobster tail and so happy because it was amazing! The food was excellent and the service was terrible overall until she stepped in. They comped our meal, we left $150 to pay for whatever we enjoyed. We just wanted a good meal. When we got up the couple next to us having the same experience, we suggested they contact the manager and told them the food was excellent and don’t let the server ruin their experience. We spent two hours trying to get our meal. Definitely think about going back for the food but they have some work to do before I would consider another meal.

    I’ll have to give it another try. It was a cooler evening but the windows and doors were open. You basically are eating out doors. They only offer one dessert which they were out of at 5:30pm. The lobster Carbonara had some odd and very strong spice. Maybe Indian or Asian? I didn’t finish it. That might be the first time ever that I didn’t finish a plate of pasta. Not a large amount either. The lobster roll my wife had was very good. I will go back when it’s warm enough to eat outside and I’ll stick to the lobster roll.

    Arrived to an empty restaurant with a reservation and they still make us wait 15 minutes outside in the cold. Easily could’ve sat us inside at our table and gave us water why we wait

    We got there at our reservation time and told they were out of lobster and could not make any of the meals with lobster in them. Our reservation was at 7:45 and what I would consider early enough you should not be out of your main ingredient. We drove 1 hour to go there specifically for their lobster rolls
