We booked to see that very musical accoustic duo Neesy Smith & Stuart Kohinga, who didn't disappoint with funky soulful covers with guitar, percussion and vocals. The area they played in was small, near the fire and the pool table, well away from other diners in the hotel. The calamari we ordered was succulent, hot and perfectly cooked, served in a timely manner despite the hotel being full of punters. Nice ambience, friendly efficient staff, great music and spot-on food. We consider ourselves very lucky to live so close to the Launching Place Home Hotel.

This is one of the great country pubs with restaurant quality food. The ambience is beautiful and the food and drink delicious. The choices of beer and wine was terrific and the food menu amazing. We booked and asked for a nice table by the fire for a birthday and were not disappointed. The seating was great, the staff spread diners around the room, so it was quiet and comfortable too. We had dessert by the fire in the Chesterfield chairs and a glass of wine to cap off a great night.

Our greeting was warm and the service was terrific all night. The fire was going and the wines were very drinkable. The food however was mixed, our duck lover was disappointed at the dry and overcooked offering, the flesh was dry, not good in duck. Having had the pork previously, I was looking forward to that again, this time however the meat was borderline dry and the outside crumbs were dark brown and tasted almost burnt - not a yummy dish sadly.

Never had a bad meal at the Launch Hotel since it reopened a couple of years ago. The service is good and food great.
