Hojoko is a rock n roll izakaya honoring the pulse of Japanese nightlife by serving sushi, robata grilled yakitori and street food small plates paired with craft cocktails, premium sake, wine, and beer. Very cool vibe. Jack was super helpful suggesting menu items for us. Pot stickers and Brussel sprouts we just about the best i ever had.

Very cool restaurant. The food was fine. We ordered things we had never tried and made some bad choices. Waiter was okay.

The food was fantastic and we ordered a main each and some apps. Was a little thrown off by the pacing, as I had asked for the noodles to come as a “main” but it just seemed everything came out when ready. Totally fine just would’ve liked to have known. My big issue honestly was the service. We had a different server take over our table in the middle of the meal (totally get it) but I found them to be incredibly off putting. Just kinda said “hi I’m your server now” and took my plates even though, at least with the Funky Chicken Ramen (fabulous btw) was actually not quite done. I didn’t even really get a chance to say anything. They then came back, took my friends plate, and simply said “I can bring you the check when we are ready” to which I said actually we’d like another drink just give us a moment to let us look. They came back about 45 seconds later asking what I wanted, I ordered, and feeling a little off put, simply said we can pay now too. They never came back after this. We proceeded to have our water pitcher swiftly taken from the table, again without asking if we even wanted more, and this happened again with remaining silverware. It felt as though we were being rushed out, and while I get it was getting late, it was only about 11:15 when we were asked about last call where I again had to ask for the check. It just felt odd and uncomfortable the whole thing. Food was fantastic and will definitely be coming back, but I just wish they their staff was more attentive, as good hospitality is what makes people want to come back to a place. Food can only get you so far.

A staff member kept trying to unnecessarily move between tables striking the back of my chair at least 6 times before I finally had to say something

First time here and LOVED it! The waitstaff for so knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make some choices. Food was FANTASTIC!
