Hochi Mama was the God Mother of all aspiring street artists and rappers in the early nineties. An immigrant in the big city, she hosted underground art shows along with rap battles for the rejects; a place where you could just be at home, but with family. The whole crew was always welcome, the more the merrier, and she was well renowned for creating innovative dishes using the original famous dishes from her home country, and plenty of booze, in her spacious and homey warehouse.

This cheeky, vibrant and buzzing Vietnamese Fusion venue is one for your to-do list. Boasting a killer menu and a super cool vibe, this place is known for a cocktail, feast or an intimate date night.

We had a work Christmas dinner booked for 7:45pm. Because of the size of our group it was a pre-paid set menu, so there was no need to order when we arrived. However our food didn't arrive until 8:45pm... Safe to say we were starving. Other than the delay, the food was great, drinks were delicious and overall a really good spot.

It’s lovely that we were greeted twice by two separate wait staff who were very friendly, but then it took time to get their attention to order. Food was amazing but with items the delicious Betel Leaf with Prawn, we really needed some wipes to clean sticky fingers. We did our best with napkins, but as an entree I felt sticky for the remainder of the meal. Awesome restaurant and there was a lovely American girl, should have got her name, but she was the hostess that I would like to see in my organisation, where I working on guest experience standards. I will be back!

Starters were great and varied. Not so much the larger plates. Would have liked a couple of options with a more western flair perhaps to complement the the Asian fusion. Service was impeccable.

As a solo diner, I had to buy a la carte rather than be able to take advantage of the pre show specials (and I had booked a feed me now option) which wasn’t available to me when I arrived Service was lovely when it arrived but I had to flag people down A disappointing experience

Food was generous and delicious! Service was great and very attentive. Only downside and it’s more nitpicking was the noise level but to be expected from such a popular place. Certainly worth the visit and looking forward to my next visit
