The Hive Pavilion with wrap-around patio & a seasonal addition of the Top Marquee each offering far-reaching sea views and evening sunsets to each table.
Check in on arrival will be at the front desk in our main marquee. Please note at peak times there may be a slight delay on arrival for your table. Booked tables will be available for the time you have reserved, early access will not be permitted.

Pre-booked a table but arrival was chaotic - supposedly two queues - one for people with a booking, one without - but the queues were merged so despite having a booking had to queue for a long time. Staff didn’t really know what was going on either. Ordered the crab sandwich- I can’t eat mayonnaise- was told they would serve me a salad instead of the coleslaw and potato salad that comes with it - but all I got was the same size small green salad that comes with the crab sandwich. Service was slow - took an hour for food to come - wasn’t a problem for us - but the nibbles we ordered for while we waiting (and advertised as for while you were waiting) came at the same time as the food - rather defeating the purpose!

Wonderful setting as always, food & service could be better. Shown to a dirty table. Meals came out at different times. Some rather odd additions to spoil fabulous food. For example a tomato puree with fresh fish and coleslaw with lobster. Suggest just stick to beautifully cooked quality ingredients without gimmicks. Finally left some dirty dishes on table despite asking politely for them to be removed - several times!

Average food for high average prices. Waited an hour for food to arrive - not ideal with young children. Lovely location on the beach. Eat somewhere else and enjoy the beach!

Returning customers from Devon who have done so for many a wedding anniversary. Although an hour & a half drive, the location and previous experience's spent with our daughter who has special needs/learning difficulties, we were so looking forward to a relaxing day. Booked for 12:30 was 10mins late although we emailed to notify due to bad traffic. Once sat at table - Firstly my 22yr old daughter wasn't allowed to order alcohol with her meal (had no id)....apparently the rules are 25 and over according to the waitress! Waited an hour & 15mins for food to arrive, which when it did was concerned that the £37.50 half lobster in my opinion hadn't been cooked properly & was told by the chef (via the waitress) that if I ate the black slimy paste & became unwell that would be fine!!!!! Shocking response. As I suspected from researching - the hard red substance is the roe or the eggs of the female lobster. It is also called coral because of its deep red color. The roe will be black and will appear gelatin-like if your lobster is UNDERCOOKED My wife & daughter ate their meal while i waited for my order to be replaced....not the romantic afternoon we were expecting. The service was hugely disappointing & never asked if more drinks were needed or whether the food was to our satisfaction.....thankfully service charge wasn't added to our bill. Doubt very much whether we will return after wasting £97.50!

Although it is about 6 years since our last visit, the Hive was as excellent as ever in all respects: brilliant food, lovely staff and great atmosphere. If we lived nearby, we’d eat there 2 or 3 times a week. Spectacular!

Good choice of food and drinks, friendly and efficient service, were impressed with the size of our coffees but felt it slightly lacked atmosphere.

The best crab sandwich ever. Quintessential English beach dining experience. Chic but not stuffy. Staff very kind and accomodating.

Overrun with children, there were too few waiting staff to cope. The fish and chips were okay. My child portion was still charged full price. It felt like we paid restaurant prices for pub grub.
