Highland Lodge is pleased to offer a full service Restaurant & Bar on site. Enjoy the sunset views over Lake Caspian from the convenience of our Queen Anne Porch or nestle up to our cozy little bar and get to know your neighbors and drinkmakers. Our cocktail list has been described as one of the best in the state- featuring producers such as Barr Hill Gin and Whistlepig Whiskey.

We are just a stone's throw from Hill Farmstead Brewery which has been rated #1 in the world several years running. We have a permanent HFS draft line at our bar as well as other local Vermont favorites such as Foam & Burlington Beer Company.

Led by Executive Chef, Kyle Rowell, our dinner menu boasts local and seasonal items that highlight our special little regions thoughtful producers and growers.

In the Summer months our bar is open for Margarita Monday as we host Caja Madera Taco Truck out in the beer garden from 5-9pm [ Memorial Day- Labor Day ]. On Thursdays we host Trivia starting at 7pm.

We love Highland Lodge and have always had excellent meals there. Last night, we both ordered lamb lollipops, one of our favorite dishes. Mine arrived nearly raw, and my partner’s was significantly overdone. Our salads were excellent. We expected service to be leisurely, as it was busy, but the time lag between our first and second small plates was excruciating. The waiter had removed my partner’s cutlery with the first plate and then brought the second without fork or knife. He had to go ask the bartender for assistance. Throughout dinner, at least four waiters drifted in and out of attending to our table, often asking a question that had just been asked by a previous waiter. The whole experience was unsettling— it was as though the place had been taken over by staff completely unfamiliar with the menu and set up for service. As we have had many fine meals there, we will return and hope that what happened last night was a never-to-be-repeated breakdown.

We requested an outdoor table, and were glad to find that outdoor seating was on a porch under a roof - perfect! The food was excellent! Each of the 4 of us ordered something different, and all 4 of us were very happy with our meals. And the place is charming, both the building and its setting. The indoor dining area was quite full, so it was probably noisier in there than it was out on the porch, as we were the only ones out there on a chilly evening. I appreciate the outdoor option because I no longer dine indoors due to extra COVID risk factors, and will go to restaurants ONLY if they offer outdoor seating.

Beautiful spot, friendly staff and ambiance. A relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed our drinks and beer from the local brewery. The salad was delicious as was the mushroom appetizer. Neither the pasta primavera or the risotto dish were very appealing to us but they were more than passable.

I’ve been going to the Highland Lodge since I was a kid and have been excited and appreciative to watch the restaurant evolve from an old-fashioned (if charming) place with mediocre food to a thoughtful, sophisticated restaurant featuring local food prepared simply but well. The location is still off-the-charts charming - dining on the front porch is a joy - and the service was excellent: friendly, attentive and fun. Oh, and the cocktails were generously proportioned and delicious. We plan to go back soon!

From the service, to the food and wine, to the views from the porch dining - everything was exceptional. Kyle the chef is really creating some amazing menu options ...even for the vegans amongst us. Thank you for a special evening. Only issue I have is with Open Table reservation system and the phone confirmation requirement.....which doesn't arrive for 12 hours! Very frustrating. Only reason I persevered to leave this review is that the meal and our evening was so exceptional.

A great night but I recommend removing the pan seared whitefish from consideration. Fresh water fish just doesnt taste great.

We hadn't been to the Highland Lodge since there was outdoor-only seating during Covid. What a pleasant surprise to walk into the spruced up lodge with lovely lighting, decor, and terrific menu. We loved having the option of dining inside or out. The views were so sweet we felt like we were on vacation rather than 10 minutes from home. We'll be going back soon. Delightful!
