We enjoyed the food and the service was very good. The only complaint we had was the 20% 'service charge' on the bill, before the tip. First, it was never mentioned, and second, the place just opened... if you need to charge more, don't add a 'service charge', just increase your prices so people can tip appropriately and know what they are paying for.

Highland House is newly opened and suffers from learning curve. The two Apps we were served were good except the sourdough bread was missing. It took extremely long to get a cocktails. Bartenders seemed to enjoy talking to the customers at the bar ignored the main dining. Wait staff looked like there was no coordination with the tables they were assigned too. Made extra steps for the staff and slowed service. That said when we were asked by the Manager how things were and we shared our concerns he apologized. He also took the majority of our costs off the bill which we appreciated. We will return later this season when the kinks are worked out.

Good food, new staff and business so working from a condensed soft opening menu. Lots of folks there. It will take time for them to get all the wheels trimming smoothly, it is still new and everything is new to all of us too. Good evening and dinner.

Overall the experience was satisfactory. The atmosphere is sub par however, there is zero ambiance. Lighting is horribly bright and overall very sterile. I would not sit inside. Need candles on tables outside. The price for glass of not great wine is too high. No fish and chips on Friday! I know that was a slip up, so I’m sure they’ll not make that mistake again. Our server Laurie was very good and pleasant.

Food was pretty good. Restaurant just opened so they are definitely working out some kinks in the system, so timing of food delivery was off and wait staff still getting used to everything. I will definitely come back and give it another try. Ambience is interesting, the vibe is trying to be an upscale restaurant but it is operating out of the club house in the golf course so there are a handful of big screen TVs in the room which changes the vibe a bit.

Very happy with the highland house. It is a serious upgrade from the previous restaurant at the golf course. They have only been open a couple of days so they have a few kinks to work out. The cocktails were expertly made. We had the tots and the date appetizers. They both were delicious. The food was a little slow to come out but it was very good. We are members so we will definitely be back, but they others in our party are not members, but they said they will also be back. Some of the highlights were the tomato soup, steak and the salmon.

AC was not working, It was 79 degrees and the place was packed. The manager never came to the table. The whipped ricotta.would be been better if it had 4 Slices of bread and if bread came Out HOT! It read was cold. The Coffee espresso was just ice coffee, gross! The service was wonderful ! You will be a great place to go. All in time !

Day 2 of opening. Too many tables are set up for the space. Noise level was extreme, could barley hear a conversation from across the table. Service was excellent, bar service and food service a bit slow, but expected as they work out the process. Food: Potato chips and french onion dip was disappointing, stale chips and overly salty dip. The steak frites was over seasoned with the chimichurri. Portion of fries were cut too small and a bit over cooked. The pork chop is a winner, served with mashed potatoes mushrooms and gravy. Dessert-- - we tried both offerings and did not finish - donuts were to dense and the bread pudding missed the mark. Drinks: Manhattan was excellent as was the Old Fashion. Cosmo was sent back- lacked any flavor. Espresso Martini a fair. Decor: Mixed reviews- Tartan carpets are wonderful, the palm tree wallpaper could have been better thought out as the repeating tree pattern overwhelm the space. Air conditioning needs improvement - A lot of potential here and as they work out the small issues looking forward to trying again in a few weeks.

This was only the second night of Highland House opening, formerly the restaurant at Dunedin Golf Club. The food and service were very good. The new decor was fresh and bright, inviting. There was outdoor seating on the patio. Bar was great! The only things to improve would be room temperature, pretty warm, and noise level was a bit high. But, I’ll add, people were happy to see the restaurant open again at Dunedin Golf Club!
