Higher Ground is a British bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinner and at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £60pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine!

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted via the OpenTable online reservation platform. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

Delicious food and genuinely lovely staff. Only comment would be that food came very quickly - might have been more relaxed to have slightly longer between courses.

Have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and was not disappointed! I could have happily ordered everything on the menu. Every dish hit the mark. Drinks were great, my daughter particularly enjoyed that there was a non alcoholic wine option. The service is an absolute delight. I wish I lived locally, I would be a regular visitor!

Food was incredible and the service was impeccable! Everyone we spoke to was so knowledgeable, friendly and genuine. Looking forward to visiting again.

Wonderful experience all round. Friendly, attentive staff who explained things brilliantly. Sommelier was great in talking us through BTG wine options (all 4 of which we had between us were delicious). The food is innovative and highly flavourful, but with some lovely nostalgic/comforting notes. Every dish was delicious and I'd struggle to pick a favourite. Sitting at the high seats by the kitchen added to the experience, but it does get hot there, so be mindful of that when booking.

This was the best dining experience I’ve had in Manchester. The food, service, ambiance all 10/10. The pig head terrine and the pollock dishes were stand outs.
