Higher Ground is a bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the North-West using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinnertime and Friday and Saturday lunchtime.

At lunch a £38pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £58pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine! Both menu options are available at the kitchen bar counter.

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

    Second time visiting HG. Just as good if not better evening- just amazing. Sharing menu was varied and delicious. Sat up at the Kitchen counter which I would highly recommend as you get to see all the action and see the prep in front of you! Service just amazing and with it being my wife’s birthday the team made a real big deal out of it and made it a really special occasion.

    Truly spectacular experience, every aspect. We cannot recommend this enough - ordered two tasting menus, and paired each course with different wines. A very inviting room, casual almost, every member of the staff from the top down excel in their craft. If you only have 1 meal in Manchester try to make it here, the price point is less than half got a similar experience in London, Berlin, or New York

    We sat at the counter and really enjoyed the atmosphere and talking to the team about the food and wine. Excellent fresh and seasonal food - it may look simple but it was all delicious. We chose the seasonal menu and the quantity and pacing of the courses was spot on. I was not familiar with the makers on the wine list, but the recommendation was spot on.

    Second visit to this fantastic restaurant. Wonderful food with a frequently changing menu and some amazing wines. One of the best meals I've had this year. Service was superb. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

    Our 2nd visit for the set sharer menu, food and presentation very good however the music levels were just too high for us to chat properly on a round table.

    A great place for a special dinner. Competent and polished cooking with exceptional friendly, knowledgeable and unstuffy service. Super wine list. Nice vibe in the room but I'd prefer the music volume a touch lower.
