Higher Ground is a bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wed-Sat at dinner and Fri-Sat lunch. On Wed/Thurs, reservations can almost always be welcomed at 5:30pm, ensuring that you can arrive at the theatre, show or stadium in good time. If you're unable to find a 5:30pm reservation available, please email hello@highergroundmcr.co.uk

At lunch a £38pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £58pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine! Both menu options are available at the kitchen bar counter.

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

Higher Ground is a fabulous restaurant. The food tastes amazing, service is fantastic and the ambience is understated and lovely for it. Wine fabulous. I 100%recommend

Overall it was a good experience. We tried a couple of the small plates and a couple mains. Most of the food tasted quite salty. Over seasoned? It wasn't inedible but there was a definite overriding taste of salt throughout. The beer was served in cans rather than draught. The service was top notch and the place has a nice vibe about it. It didn't wow me so I wouldn't rush back, but wouldn't rule out trying it again in the future

Unbelievably good staff, very attentive and knowledgeable. Stunning food and wine. 10/10 for us. Would highly recommend busting and a great gift voucher as a special gift. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

Fantastic restaurant, food was amazing and really excellent service. We opted for the tasting menu and we enjoyed a great selection of dishes that were unique and truly delicious. It was good value and we were able to enjoy food we wouldn’t have normally ordered. All the ingredients are seasonal as they are sourced from their local farm and as such taste so fresh. Extremely attentive service and received great recommendations on the wine and the menu.

We had the family style lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. Very interesting with each ingredient holding its own - beautifully presented and great flavours. The service was also outstanding with excellent guidance on drinks - wines and ciders. Loved it!
