Higher Ground is a British bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinner and at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £60pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine!

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted via the OpenTable online reservation platform. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

Our first time at Higher Ground and recommended by friends. We’re up from Kent for my girlfriend’s birthday and can only say how incredible the whole evening was; the atmosphere, the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable team. Phenomenal food! Everything is so balanced and perfect. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend. Thank you for making a great birthday.

We had an amazing dinner. We tried the tasting menu and every course was delicious and beautifully plated. The service was excellent and staff super friendly. Really enjoyed our evening!

Fabulous as always, great food, wine, service and all round experience. Love it here and is always first in mind when eating in town. Was no question when deciding where to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect choice. Thanks to all at HG :)

Great experience all around. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful journey into a British culinary experience. Looking forward to going back.

The food wasn’t bad but the value for money was extremely poor. We were encouraged to get the £60 per person, seasonal sharing menu and left hungry, I wouldn’t say we have big appetites so others must feel this way too. They don’t tell you what is on the menu and I feel this is an excuse to essentially rip you off. You’d expect enough food for £60. When we politely told the waiter, his reaction was ‘you’re entitled to your opinion’ which I think is a somewhat rude response.

This was a really special experience. A night to remember. The food and service were outstanding. Not a fault to be found. Every course was delicious. We paid more than we normally would for a meal but it was so much more - it was worth every penny, highly recommend you visit here at least once to experience it. The sharing menu is delicious and will be back again,

An incredible dining experience. We sat at the counter next to the pass, it was fascinating to watch the kitchen at work as well as experience the amazing food. An expensive meal but worth it for a special occasion
