   Staff's made us welcome... i had fish and wasn't that impressed with it and taste wasn't very nice.. and I think the price was very expensive and I won't be back

   Perceptive, confident but understated and extremely thoughtful service. Zero fuss exceptional food, ingedient and flavour led. Loved the open kitchen, always do - we have nothing hidden. If I lived in Manchester I’d be here often.

   We had the tasting menu which was great. Everything was perfect- very well cooked, well thought out and interesting combinations. Atmosphere and service were lovely. Couldn’t have done anything better!

   We really enjoyed this meal - delicious, fresh ingredients prepared with care and enthusiasm. Friendly, engaged and lively front of house team. Able to deal with my partners gluten intolerance with no issues and without him feeling that he’d lost out on any of the deliciousness! Amazing wine list, but you might need help navigating it.

   Everything was great, food, atmosphere and service until the end, where we felt like we were being kicked out once we finished our food. All they had to do was be a little tactful as we knew there was another sitting after.

    I was happy to return to Higher Ground where I remember enjoying dinner two years ago. The green pea fritters were a bit underwhelming as the the taste was quite bland. The green chowder was surprising in a good way with a pleasant sour taste. The pasta with beef ragu was good but nothing special. The honey tart was for me the highlight of the meal. The staff/service were nice, smiley and reactive. The bill for 4 dishes + 1 cocktail came to GBP74 which I find quite steep and was by far the most expensive meal during my holidays in Manchester.
