The Area's Authentic Seafood Restaurant The experience that you will have at Hieronymus Seafood Restaurant & Oyster Bar is uniquely Wilmington, North Carolina. Our specialty is Cape Fear cuisine, including fresh local seafood, fresh vegetables, and local craft beer. When you walk through our doors, take a look around. You will see many items that are a part of our history. The shells inside the tables have been brought to us by many guests throughout the years. Nameplates on the bar designate locals that have told many a tale. News releases show Hieronymus cooking for Bryant Gumbel on the Today Show. You might copy a recipe for soft shell crab or take a gander at some of the "stars" that have dropped by for dinner.

This was the first time that we came to this restaurant and it happened to be Valentine’s Day. They had a special menu for that day, but you could also order off the regular menu. The food and the service was spectacular if you’re looking for wild caught seafood this is absolutely the place to go. I would go again in a heartbeat

Another GREAT experience! Celebrated a wedding anniversary with a cozy table by the fireplace. Super service and great eats, plus a delicious complimentary dessert! Wonderful evening!

We went there as a part of our passport experience from the Del-Webb community in Wilmington. The service was excellent. The food was superb. The ambience was quite nice. We had a little bit of a loud table behind us other than that it was an excellent experience certainly plan to return Highly recommend.

There wasn’t a table available in the dining room when we arrived so we elected to wait for one rather than sit on the drafty porch or a high top in the bar. We were seated in about 15 minutes. We had very good service, and they start you off with some delicious cheese biscuits. I enjoyed the crab bisque & appetizer serving of crab legs which were plenty for me. My husband enjoyed his mahi. We had a delicious pecan pie ala mode for dessert. It is a good place to have seafood.

The crab cakes were tasty but had a lot of filler. Cole slaw and grits were great as was the seared tuna sashimi.
