The Area's Authentic Seafood Restaurant The experience that you will have at Hieronymus Seafood Restaurant & Oyster Bar is uniquely Wilmington, North Carolina. Our specialty is Cape Fear cuisine, including fresh local seafood, fresh vegetables, and local craft beer. When you walk through our doors, take a look around. You will see many items that are a part of our history. The shells inside the tables have been brought to us by many guests throughout the years. Nameplates on the bar designate locals that have told many a tale. News releases show Hieronymus cooking for Bryant Gumbel on the Today Show. You might copy a recipe for soft shell crab or take a gander at some of the "stars" that have dropped by for dinner.

This was my first visit to this quaint restaurant. Very good experience. The New England Clam Chowder was the best I've ever had, and the clam strips were quite delicious. Wait staff were attentive and pleasant.

Fantastic Seafood and Great Service – Having been to hundreds of seafood restaurants over the years, I have to say IMO, Hieronymus Seafood tops the charts in my book, especially if you like the Calabash style “Captains Platter”! The flounder was cooked perfectly, fresh and flaky along with the rest of the seafood – All great and they will prepare the broiled seafood anyway that you like in a number of different unique styles. Kudos to Savannah, the Chef and her team for a great evening, wonderful food and stellar service. We’ll be back for sure.:)

Food was fine nothing to write home about I understand that I visited this restaurant on Valentines day so I expected to have to wait but the service was terrible our waiter Johnny I think was his name? Was incredibly inattentive we got shoved into this two top table in a corner against the back door. Just one of those things where you go "Well guess we're never coming back here" I know I wasn't the only person having a less than exceptional experience that night the whole thing was such a disappointment considering the recommendations of other people

This was the first time that we came to this restaurant and it happened to be Valentine’s Day. They had a special menu for that day, but you could also order off the regular menu. The food and the service was spectacular if you’re looking for wild caught seafood this is absolutely the place to go. I would go again in a heartbeat

Another GREAT experience! Celebrated a wedding anniversary with a cozy table by the fireplace. Super service and great eats, plus a delicious complimentary dessert! Wonderful evening!
