The Area's Authentic Seafood Restaurant The experience that you will have at Hieronymus Seafood Restaurant & Oyster Bar is uniquely Wilmington, North Carolina. Our specialty is Cape Fear cuisine, including fresh local seafood, fresh vegetables, and local craft beer. When you walk through our doors, take a look around. You will see many items that are a part of our history. The shells inside the tables have been brought to us by many guests throughout the years. Nameplates on the bar designate locals that have told many a tale. News releases show Hieronymus cooking for Bryant Gumbel on the Today Show. I have only lived in NC for less than two years. While attending the theater productions in Wilmington I found this GREAT little seafood place. Its 75 miles from my home but have made the trip 3 times this year alone .

Always fresh, always amazing! The blackened swordfish is a go to favorite, but truly you can’t go wrong with any food option. For a cocktail, order the Tropical Pain Chiller!

Easy to reserve a table, place was busy but they turned tables quickly. Nice outdoor bar area if you are inclined. Hostess and waitstaff were excellent. Quick and efficient service. Food was pretty good and decent portion for price though the clams were little necks so 6 for $8 seemed a little steep. Vegetables on one order were a little over salted, otherwise no complaints.

The food was good. She crab soup was excellent and the portions were very large - way too big. Our server was fabulous. So kind and attentive and offered great suggestions. Nice stop for a seafood dinner.

Good seafood place that has been in business for many years. Menu offers something for everyone, good seafood as well as some other non seafood items. I personally only go there for seafood so have no opinion of other menu items. All the fish is fresh and can be prepared the way you prefer. Not fine dining but fine food.

There was only one choice of vegetables which was zucchini and it was soggy. I was not crazy about the flounder but the shrimp was good. The service was not that great but they were definately understaffed. I would not go back.
