This magical Edwardian building has been transformed to a beautiful bar, restaurant and private room where we hope to deliver to our customers an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Newcastle.
Join us to dine in our elegant brasserie which aims to serve classic dishes, including a generous Sunday lunch, using the very best ingredients with plenty of flavor but no fuss or in the bar for some light bites and fantastic drinks curated by a team of some of Newcastle best mixologists.
Above all we want you to relax, enjoy the music and feel at home here at Hibou Blanc.
Please note our bar operates on a walk-in only basis, and you can book our main restaurant to enjoy both our lunch and our a la carte menu. When joining for Afternoon Tea please state this in your booking notes.

Four of us ordered from the Sunday lunch menu. Everything we had was delicious, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The pace of service was spot on, we weren’t rushed and the courses were evenly spaced out.

Staff warm,welcoming, efficient. Food fab.Moved to the bawhere Paul was singing swing.laid back chilled vipe.Just what the doctor ordered and bar staff definitely had a can do attitude. I will definitely return. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Outstanding service. Nothing was too much trouble and our meal passed without incident. Lovely, tasty food in a pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

We have been avid fans of HB since opening and have visited many times for drinks, meals and special occasions with family and friends, always giving great reviews and recommending to all! The bar retains its wow factor; is bright and well presented, with excellent service and drinks menu, delicious bar snacks and a great vibe. However the restuarant on the last few times we have visited, has lost some of it's high end appeal. Food continues to be excellent, but it's a shame that the bread and olives is now not a welcome 'gratis touch.' Little touches like this on a expensive menu are crowd pleasers? Service is attentive, but we're not completely convinced that a team of young staff chatting and singing along to the music is entirely in line with your ethos? Lighting continues to be dim / poor -making it very difficult to read the menus. Overall... food is still spot on but I do feel the upmarket / niche feel is slowly diminishing....

This is the second time we visited Hibou Blanc and they remembered us from 2 years ago which was so lovely. The cocktail bar is very grand and beautiful and the restaurant is cosy and beautifully appointed. In fact it reminds us of being in Brussels. The cocktails are excellent and the food is absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. A gem in Newcastle!

A diamond in central Newcastle. Food excellent. Cocktail bar excellent. You must try the oysters. Wine and spirits also excellent

A beautiful building, lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly in both the bar area and the restaurant. The Sunday lunch was the best we've had for a long time. We each had a starter, 1 fishcake, 1 scotch egg, both great but not really needed as the main was really enough. The beef, 1 pink and 1 well done was amazing. And the Yorkshire puddings, home made and enormous, I'd definitely recommend a visit.
