This magical Edwardian building has been transformed to a beautiful bar, restaurant and private room where we hope to deliver to our customers an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Newcastle.
Join us to dine in our elegant brasserie which aims to serve classic dishes, including a generous Sunday lunch, using the very best ingredients with plenty of flavor but no fuss or in the bar for some light bites and fantastic drinks curated by a team of some of Newcastle best mixologists.
Above all we want you to relax, enjoy the music and feel at home here at Hibou Blanc.
Please note our bar operates on a walk-in only basis, and you can book our main restaurant to enjoy both our lunch and our a la carte menu. When joining for Afternoon Tea please state this in your booking notes.

From entering to leaving the venue. Our service was faultless. From a warm welcome, to our coats being taken to be hung. The ladies knew their menu. And explained everything throughout, their was a genuine case of checking on us, rather than feeling forced alongside letting us have the time to enjoy all food, courses. The chefs also clearly know their steaks and how to cook to your liking. The thing about good food is it has to be both portion controlled mixed with the perfect flavour. In their lies your value. So you never feel shortchanged. Because more doesnt necessarily always mean better. As flavour was super. Next time we will stay longer for drinks. Nice work team all round. Bonus the ambience was just right. Light tones good. Music at a well volume. Clear care has been made in all areas.

My friend and I had a great evening last night in Hibou Blanc. French martinis as a pre-dinner drink and then we both chose from set menu. Cheese soufflee starter and pork main were particularly great. Good choice of wines at reasonable prices too. Service and atmosphere were excellent. So good, in fact, that we also had a few post dinner cocktails in the bar ...... highly recommend. We'll be back!

Loving the autumn set menu, fabulous food beautifully presented & so tasty. Love the fact you can enjoy the set menu all evening now on a Saturday with no time restrictions. Only criticism was the bread wasn’t up to the usual high standards, I always look forward to the good quality bread, this time we were served a baguette which to be honest I would question how fresh it actually was, disappointed but they did take the cost off the bill in the end. Bring back the lovely fresh bread you usually serve

My husband and I booked an evening meal, we arrived early in order to try the beautiful bar and cocktails beforehand. I mentioned our booking to which the bar person told us to wait a second then the manager Ben told us there was a gas leak in the Kitchen were waiting for an engineer to check. He offered us complimentary drinks whilst we waited. He came back at our allocated booking time to let us know they expected a delay of a further 30 minutes again he brought us drinks and also nibbles. We were shown to our table an hour later than our planned booking but because we had been fully kept up to date with the situation and given drinks it did not affect our enjoyment. We had a fabulous meal, the food was very flavourful and beautifully presented. The service was fantastic throughout, the staff are very friendly and professional. Well done to the chefs who had to deal with all of the bookings who got seated at the same time. It really did not affect the standard of cuisine. A great experience, the best measure of a venue is how they deal with issues. The staff at Hibou Blanc are extremely professional and dealt with the problem swiftly and kept us informed throughout.

I recently dined at Hiblou Blanc and overall it was a really nice experience. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. That said, I was disappointed with a communication issue. I had specifically signed up for the steak night and informed all my guests about the offer. Two days before our reservation, I found out that steak night had been moved from Thursday to Wednesday and no one informed me. I’m currently 8 months pregnant so I didn’t want the stress of cancelling last minute and finding another place so I decided to keep the Thursday booking. However, when I called the restaurant the staff didn’t seem interested in helping or offering any alternatives, which was frustrating
