This magical Edwardian building has been transformed to a beautiful bar, restaurant and private room where we hope to deliver to our customers an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Newcastle.
Join us to dine in our elegant brasserie which aims to serve classic dishes, including a generous Sunday lunch, using the very best ingredients with plenty of flavor but no fuss or in the bar for some light bites and fantastic drinks curated by a team of some of Newcastle best mixologists.
Above all we want you to relax, enjoy the music and feel at home here at Hibou Blanc.
Please note our bar operates on a walk-in only basis, and you can book our main restaurant to enjoy both our lunch and our a la carte menu. When joining for Afternoon Tea please state this in your booking notes.

Love Hibou on a Sunday for lunch, as always, food was great, service was excellent, nice atmosphere with live music - it’s one of my favourite places to eat in town, would recommend

Can’t fault the food and drink. Oysters were superb followed by prawn cocktails and scotch egg which were excellent. Sunday roasts of beef and pork were also very good. Extra gravy needed but on the whole it was superb. We also had a portion of pigs in blankets and they were very good although a bit pricey at £8. We had two bottles of Chenin Blanc which was very drinkable. With two apple juices the bill was £183 plus service charge. It was at the end of the meal the issues started when the server advised us our time was up and we needed to give the table back as it was booked for another party. We asked if there was a table in the bar we could have to finish our drinks. She advised the bar was really quiet so we could just get a table. We said that wasn’t really appropriate and she disappeared. She came back again with a tray over her chest saying we need to move now. We said we would when we finished our drinks. There were several free tables in the restaurant. However, we finished our drinks and approached the manager. She was as unhelpful as the server and quite rude advising us we had been at the table for two hours and eleven minutes. We relayed the story of the server and she repeated we had been at the table over two hours. Fortunately we hadn’t ordered puddings or coffees and we pointed out that it wasn’t down to us how long it takes to serve food and drinks. The bar was really busy and we also relayed the comment the server made about a table in the bar……clearly wrong. The manager apologised and said we shouldn’t have been told that. At no point did the manager attempt to try and put the issue right and when I suggested this to her she asked what I would like her to do. Sarcastically I suggested £100 off the bill but moderated my response to maybe securing us a seat in the bar with a round of drinks - her response was that my wife had left so she wasn’t going to do that!!! That sealed the decision to never return to this place which is a real shame

First time gere, was so good, will be back! Service was brilliant, food is amazing, inventive vegetarian options, and lovely relaxed atmosphere

We came for an evening meal for my friends birthday, the food and service was excellent. Not our first visit and certainly wont be our last. Always such a great experience and a wonderful atmosphere.

Wonderful evening where weren’t rushed or interrupted. Great atmosphere. My starter of a prawn cocktail was, however, meagre. Disappointed with it but the rest of the rest of the meal / night was wonderful. Need to get it all right for their prices. Still good though.
