Last time we visited this pub it was bustling, this time it was very quiet especially for a thursday evening. There were only two people serving one being a "new Boy" and one other taking orders. I ordered a sauce with my meal which didn't arrive until I had almost finished my meal, I was told it had been put through but hadn't reached the kitchen. The place has totally lost its character which is a shame because the food was good.

Food was lovely just quite small portions Staff very friendly Table booked for 5 o’clock but nearly and hour before we got our food although it was very fresh

Very enjoyable meal, booked in advance and when arrived we were expected. All food on the menu selected was available. Food tasty and as described. Friendly service and attentive to requirements.

Service was so slow Went to the bar for drinks was asking for order as I returned so happy to give us more time but then no one came back for ages and we had to ask. Eventually we all asked for Sunday lunch but the table that came in after us had ordered the last ones The food we got was good but the salad with the chicken schnitzel was so tiny not what I was expecting as it says on the menu with salad not just 1 leaf

Waited to be shown to table, then just left. No one came to ask if we wanted drinks so ended up ordering from the bar. Food arrived in timely manner, once our order was taken. Food was reasonable quality although very little vegetables on plate. Also, charged extra £1 for 2 little jugs of gravy! When plates were cleared we were asked if we wanted the desert menu, but no one brought us one! We had to ask at the bar for one, then waitress asked for our order as soon as we got the menu. Over all, food was ok, service was dire. Obviously short of staff

Service at the bar was slow and some of the staff seemed really inexperienced ! The meals ordered were great and we ordered a fruit crumble to share as a pudding which we waited 20 minutes for before asking at the bar to see what had happened. We were told that the order hadn’t been given to the kitchen so would we like to wait further. We politely declined and left ! Not an ideal experience but probably down to the age and inexperience of the staff. Would recommend but only for the food and not for the overall feel of the place. This was our second visit over the weekend but a completely different feel to our first visit.

So disappointed. We’ve been before and really enjoyed it so we were really looking forward to it. The food again was really good however our drinks were forgotten. After we’d had our meal we went in search of our lost drinks and were assured they were on their way. Again we waited. We had another go at chasing them up and finally received them only to find that the cider we had ordered was in fact lager. Again another chase up. A fleeting apology was received regarding the lager mix up no mention of the delay. We decided not to chance the dessert as time was moving on so went to pay for our meal. The same barman took payment and even though we brought up the delayed drinks received no comment and no apology. It’s a shame when the chef gives 100 percent only to be l let down by front of house. Won’t be back!

Really good sunday lunch. As it was warm, we changed our plans and sat outside. Think the staff were a little run off their feet and the tables were full of glasses/plates. Needed a garden runner to clear the tables but that was probably as the weather was a surprise. The food was great and the price ok for what we had. Staff pleasant.
