Lovely setting, pleasant staff but v overpriced for small portions. £14.95 for a tiny lasagne (which was no better than a microwave one) & an extra £2.95 for garlic bread, sad as we were having a lovely night & felt ripped off.

Ate off the £12 lunch menu my chicken wrap wasn’t that good my friend had Gammon was lovely another had Fis butty lovely there only small portions but enough….i would go back but order something else Dessert & drink was nice but everything seemed a little disorganised….only had one dessert available out of 3….bit disappointed

Husband had mixed grill which he liked, I had lasagna which was very tasty but small portion I thought. Son and husband had steak on grill and waiter didn’t know which was which. Cooked differently.

Excellent all round on 11th Sept, though busy because of hot weather. Fish & chips, half chicken, fishcake and desserts very good on 11th & 17th though lasagne portion too small and slightly too sweet on 17th. Thought £2.50 extra for garlic bread a bit steep so didn't order it -but could have done with it. Our table wasn't in a good position - too draughty and busy by the kitchen. Staff very good, polite and attentive. Bit of a long wait for food but they apologised as it was busy. On the whole, we enjoyed it!

We originally had a table booked for 4:15pm. Due to the sunny weather, we decided to have a walk to the pub. Plenty of outside seating space to choose from. Had a drink whilst we waited. We could see the lovely food coming out to the other tables in the outside area, which made us hungry. We decided to eat earlier than planned. The staff were happy to accept our change of eating time and change of table, from inside to outside. We ordered a small fish and chips with mushy peas and the light bite chicken wrap with chips. For desert I had the vanilla cheesecake and my partner had the apple and raspberry crumble with ice cream. All of the food was served quickly and was very nice. Good quality food at a reasonable price. We will be eating here again.

The food was really good and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The setting is beautiful with a view of the Lakeland Hills and the chance to watch the sun setting across Morecambe Bay if you visit in the evening. A walk along the canal is an added bonus possibility.

The party of seven enjoyed the lunch deal. The beer was excellent. The food I have two criticisms of. The eggs with the ham were over cooked and solid in the middle the chips were mixed. Some looked to have been cooked at least twice with some fresh ones the hard ones had nopotato in the middle Apart from those two little niggles everyone had a great lunch

Fabulous food. Apple and Raspberry dessert superb. Wonderful Sunday roast. Plenty of it too.

Last time we visited this pub it was bustling, this time it was very quiet especially for a thursday evening. There were only two people serving one being a "new Boy" and one other taking orders. I ordered a sauce with my meal which didn't arrive until I had almost finished my meal, I was told it had been put through but hadn't reached the kitchen. The place has totally lost its character which is a shame because the food was good.
