Food was outstanding, delicious courses. Poor choice background music, not peaceful. Would be good for a printed sheet describing each course. Waitress spoke too quickly and quietly to remember it all as eating it.

We enjoyed a stunning lunch with creative dishes and fantastic tastes. Would certainly recomend The Heron!

The most tastiest dishes we’ve had as a family for many years! The cheese soufle, Gnocchi and the hazelnut chocolate dessert were outstanding, highly recommend. Need those in my life! The chefs were working away in an open kitchen, fascinating to watch- friendly and both were welcoming. I cannot wait to visit the Isle of Wight again just to go there. I wish them well, to continue in their success. My only only snag, was that portions need just to be slightly bigger, by the time you got stuck in- dish was finished!

First time at this restaurant and I was very pleased by the experience, it won’t be the last time I go. Lovely food, good service in a really nice setting. Definitely recommended.

Fabulous Evening with Friends! We had the 5 Course Surprise Tasting Menu which was great! We started with Nduja Fritter and also Filo Cigar, followed by the amazing, very tasty Kombu Poached Jersey Royal. Grilled Seabream with the Curry sauce followed and the freshness of the sauce was superb. As a main we had the duo of Chicken served with Wild garlic puree, asparagus and hen of the woods..lovely dish. As a dessert i had the Coconut and Lime set cream with pineapple and mango sorbet, delicious! Outstanding food, great service!

We booked this as a fine dining experience , it wasn’t . The serving staff were good and pleasant . We arrived a little late for cocktails ( taxi was late ) to be told we were needed at the table , the please was in no way full. We were ticked away on what felt like a back room with a false electric fire . We eat in many fine dining restaurants all over the world . In our opinion this is not one . We may well try again to give it another chance . We would say it would be good to try to form your own opinion .

First time at Heron for Sunday Roast. Didnt dissapoint. Food was delicious and plenty of it!! Service friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again.

Ryde isn't exactly a hotspot for culinary offers and The Heron definitely stands out. Their little cocktail bar, where you can wait and have a drink if you arrived early was a pleasant surprise. They also seem to be able to attract enough staff (unlike some other restaurants) and service was very good. They are planning to open another restaurant in Cowes - let's hope they don't take their eyes off the Ryde outlet

We are regular visitors to this island gem. The food was of a very high standard. A welcoming cocktail in the bar with some live music led to a perfect evening.
