I’ve been to the Hens Quarter several times and never experienced what I experienced today. Our waiter, I forgot her name, came off the cuff rude; she made it seem as if we didn’t want to pay for specific items or were questioning certain things, and we just wanted to order food. Our cornbread was cold, and we asked for a skillet; she made it seem as if we couldn’t pay extra for it, and we’re like, OK, we know, but the cornbread was hard, and it was freezing. She also forgot about us. There were times when 20 minutes would go by, and we didn’t get any service, and when she did come and ask if we wanted anything or were OK, it seemed like she had an attitude. We were not rude to her, and we don’t know what we did for her to act the way she did. We had a lot of food left over when it finally came because we lost our appetite, and a lot of the food we had left was not on the family brunch menu. We wanted to take those items home. She got an attitude with us because she wanted to know who gave us to-go boxes. That was very unprofessional, so we did not leave her a tip because of her attitude. I’ve been here several times, and no server has ever acted the way she’s acted. I will come back, but if she is working that day, I would request to have someone else leave and come another day.

Family style brunch is the way to go!!! Food was amazing and our servers was excellent.

Hector was our amazing server who was super friendly and attentive. Him and Eric, the manager, ensured our special event was extra special. Delicious food and drinks were of course the highlight! Thank you!

I had looked forward to coming here for a long time. I live near Dulles Airport so I came with purpose to Old Towne. I loved the ambience and enjoyed the King St Margarita (which I can just get at the bar in the future). I was the second to arrive, 3rd to be seated, 5th to place my order despite watching the three tables with 2/3 guests get water, beverages, and appetizer orders taken plus 1/2 tables that arrived after me. This process took up about 30 minutes of my meter time and I really was about to leave and head somewhere else so as not to mess up my first experience. I understood the server was shorthanded but still in that scenario, sequence is important. I was also alone yet had to sit there longer to close out than 2 groups that sat after me and 2 that sat less than five minutes before me. My server was polite and tried to make it up but I can’t say I felt much beyond sad that he was shorthanded and I was getting the short end of the stick. I came for the gumbo having enjoyed it at hen quarter prime. The rest of my meal was ok but I packed it to go as my two hours was running out and I had been there long enough.

Always wanted to try Hen Q & it didn’t disappoint at all. Mac & cheese was sold out so get there early. Seafood burger & chicken & waffles were delicious. Jennifer, my server, made my first time experience even more outstanding as she provided amazing customer service. I will be returning.

On Sunday you can't go wrong with the brunch option. One price with the ability to try multiple dishes and appetizers.

The floor on the lower level wasn't too clean. I gather they were still cleaning up after brunch. They were overpriced for 1 quarter fried chicken smash potatoes and greens. The 2 pieces of chicken were quite small. Chicken gumbo was like a broth and very little of any other substance such as rice, chicken, and sausage. I had Shrimp and grits. The shrimp tastes as though it's been sitting out too long. However, the sweet tea was good. We were not offered dessert. I exclusively informed them this was a birthday celebration. I asked for a refill on the tea and the waitress kept forgetting to bring It with her as she kept passing by us. After a great weekend that was the only letdown during my weekend Birthday celebration.

Food was great, we had a run into with the waitress who may have gotten confused when asked questions about mashed potatoes and whether or not it had gravy (it didn’t) and if the Mac n cheese was super wet or more so solid (sorry different expectations for southern places) and so she brought the wrong side and was aggressive when I reminded her of the side I ordered. She was great after the initial recognition of the issue! Also they ran out of the sauces for the hen orders and only had hot sauce. I don’t handle spicy well so I ordered the mild sauce, instead of saying we ran out, she brought hot sauce no mention, I ate it, I paid for it dearly the next couple of days. All that to say food is great service needs a picker upper midweek.

The food was fresh and delicious. Mimosas were on point and the DJ was 🔥. The Catfish and Grits was chefs kiss! Very cutesy for a brunch date with fam, friends, or lil boo thang.
