The second location, and first on the east coast, Hello Betty Bethesda is delivering serious culinary and beverage chops in a laid back, "good vibes only" environment. Paying homage to the unique places we call home; we are serving up a seasonal seafood-forward experience with an emphasis on the Chesapeake and Mid-Atlantic cuisine. After having been at a fabulous party at Hello Betty, we decided to return for a friend's birthday. It could not have been more different, and not in a good way. The venue is awesome; everything else was awful. We were literally the ONLY table in the restaurant that night, and everything went wrong. It took over 15 minutes to get drinks. There were at least 6 things that they "were out of" on the menu. When our dinners came, 2 of the 7 were the wrong thing. Those 2 dinners arrived 25 minutes later! It was laughable. We should have just had drinks outside at the boat bar and gone elsewhere for dinner. Great atmosphere; awful everything else.

Food was average and service was not good. We sat outside & our waitress disappeared for almost 30 minutes. Place was very cute though.

They said they had a mocktail but it wasn't on the menu. I ordered it but it was just juice! Sigh. Frustrating. Also my friend ordered a cocktail and they took the alcohol out so I guess they really got confused.

Good seafood and cocktails. Great atmosphere. A little noisy, but very fun and lively. Enjoyed the live music.

It's a cute place but we had an awful experience. Service was super slow. We got our apps before we got our drinks. All of the food was super bland. The crab cake was mushy and fishy.

This place is a gem. The food was ok, nothing to write home about, but the experience was amazing. I came for the Sunday drag brunch, and the entertainment was awesome. I noticed the outdoor boat bar, which is also incredible. Would love to come back.

Service was poor, we waited a long time for the waitress to come to our table. I had to go up to their station to tell them that we need help. At that time, we have not yet ordered food and were told that our waitress will come to our table. Ordered the crab cake sandwich as none of the traditional items on their menu was available as it was brunch. The crab cake was soggy, too much mayo/tartar sauce or whatever sauce they put on it. Fries was too salty. Also ordered the wings as appetizer, when the it finally came, waitress did not provide plates so because we were starving, we just started eating the wings directly from the serving plate. The plates came after 10 minutes which should have been given after she took our order. Place was not crowded at all so no excuse if she was tied up with other tables. Then they had the nerve to put a service charge on the tab. Nevertheless, I added a small tip to the service charge even though poor service was given. Not coming back to this place again.

We’ve been here three times now and service is always crazy slow. Very friendly, not busy at all, but just forget to come back. Food was good, atmosphere is awesome, but it’s never busy and they need some better training in place.

The restaurant was cute and whimsical. The food was delicious and worth the price we paid. They were probably understaffed since the service wasn’t great but the staff were apologetic and did everything they could to make our experience a pleasant one. I would definitely return there again.
