Starter that was the octopus was really good. I had the lobster and steak meal. The steak as always was very good, but the lobster was awful, chewie and tasted of rubber. I'm amazed this happens here. This was my first lobster at the Hippodrome and it was very disappointed. The service was excellent.

Carolina and David were outstanding hosts for our meal. And our food was absolutely amazing and can’t rate this restaurant enough. Look forward to our next experience!!!!

The main course could be served with some other sides like salad or chips. It was nothing but the steak on the plate and was not looking fulfilled.

I have been visited the Heliot steak house for years and was gutted with dinner here on 05/10/24, especially as I had been raving to a visiting friend about it. We had to wait 40mins to be seated. During which time we were offered a free drink so thank you for that but perhaps we could have been offered a menu to look at or even some snacks as we waited. There were too few staff working. It was clear the service wasn’t going so well I saw diners leave without receiving their food which did not bode well. After the 40 Min wait for our pre booked table it took another 20 Mins to place our food order. My table of 3 were offered some bread which equated to about 1.5 bits of bread each, usually the bread offering is generous. When the meal did arrive, the steak was fine but my side was cold. The millionaires Mac was a cold hard block of a cheese with a rock hard boiled egg, not the soft yokey egg & soft Mac cheese this dish usually is. This was poor. Sadly we couldn’t eat dinner fast enough and leave which I am genuinely gutted about. Having eaten here several times when the casino is busy, there’s no excuse for this service. We didn’t complain to the waiting staff as they were manically trying to serve, in fact we saw waiting staff having an argument and we did not want to add to their woes. Very poor experience and if it wasn’t for the fact the experience is normally excellent I wouldn’t have considered returning.

This was my third visit, and first for my friend. Delicious food, great ambience overlooking the casino with surprise Happy Birthday dessert as we were celebrating our belated 60th/65th birthdays. Unfortunately however we waited just over half an hour for our mains, which when in limited time to go to see Magic Mike made us rather anxious. The staff were very friendly and full of apologies for the delay.

Pre theatre dining with a 'set' price for 2 or 3 courses. Sounds impressive... But not! The set price obviously includes the mains. So you go for the steak option. That's it. A steak. This means you add chips £3 to £5, a side dish £5 and a steak sauce (just over a thimble full) £3. All adds up so really a set price is misleading. However food was great, service excellent and the ambience outstanding.
