We are situated in the village of Hurtmore, near Godalming and Guildford, with easy access just off the A3.

We would like to introduce The NEW Heaven’s Kitchen Steakhouse at The Squirrel Inn
We offer all the same steaks along with some pub classics. In addition, The Squirrel has more to offer, it boasts an outdoor children’s play area, large outside terrace, on-site parking, more range of beers and ales and not only that, it can accommodate larger groups. Come visit us and enjoy a quintessential country pub paired with the best steakhouse in Surrey.

We pride ourselves on locally sourced food and a wide ranging selection of real ales from across the country. In the summer our outside dining areas, all decorated with beautiful hanging flower baskets, really come into their own. It’s the perfect setting for a family gathering or a quiet drink with friends.

We also have letting rooms within our beautifully refurbished 16th Century Cottages

Unfortunately the food was at best average, the scallops were very poor, cooked coleslaw that sat too long wasn’t inspiring either. The poor waitress seemed to have no support which resulted in poor service but not her fault.

Service started of well which is no surprise as it was very quite, however this changed as the meal progressed even though it was still quite . The food was ok , I was brought up abroad so know my steaks and this was average at best . If I wanted better then the Percy Arms wipes the floor with these guys. I’ve tried Farnham and Hurtmore and wasn’t blown away by either. It’s a shame as I live in Godalming.

The table was booked at 2pm. We arrived at 1:50. We were shown to our table at 2. We were offered to order drinks and food by 2:10. Our drinks arrived and then we waited and waited. At 2:50 the manager arrived to say the chef and a waitress had phoned in sick. The place was packed but nobody was refused a table if one was available or told that food would be late in arriving. At 3 our meal arrived. In the hour we were waiting we saw people getting up after waiting nearly an hour between courses. Some left as soon as their meal arrived. We ordered 30 day old prime sirloin of roast beef. What arrived were strips of meat and grizzle that had been cooked on a griddle. The vegetables were warm and under cooked. We had our drinks and when I said that our meals were inedible we were just charged for the drinks and not £50 for the food. This was the least we could have expected. It was Father's Day and I had booked especially as the reviews online were good and we had eaten there before in February. The whole experience spoilt our day. We went home and cooked a delicious supper. The Manager was trying his best but he should have known there were going to be problems as one of his chefs was absent . He should have said only those who booked could eat or reduce the menu. Beef off for example.

Terrible service. Seated outside and completely forgotten about. Ordered at the bar and then waited an hour between courses. The man behind the bar was the only staff member who seemed to know what he was doing. Waiting staff were wandering around aimlessly and claimed they “couldn’t find our table”. Only saving grace was the children’s play area otherwise we would have followed the example of many other customers and left without eating.

Meltdown on Fathers Day - Booked a lunch for my family and arrive on time. Drinks order arrived but the food order didn't. after an hour and a half wait for the starter despite reminding staff nothing turned up so we left. Manager was supposed to ring me to arrange compensation - Nothing heard. lots of people were either waiting for food to arrive or complaining about the food that had arrived. the roasts looked very poor indeed so consider us leaving as a lucky escape. My advice - avoid at all cost!

We waited for 2 hours on arrival with no food … clearly they had overbooked with an eye on takings for Father’s Day. Several tables asking for updates - after 2 hours we gave up and left. So, so disappointed and what a day to let everyone done. Shocking. Coincidentally my parents had been a few weeks prior on a regular Tuesday and had an equally slow wait for Food … what a shame as Heaven’s Kitchen is great food, just not worth the wait. Sort it out!!

We had a very poor experience on Father's Day; it took 30 mins for our drinks to arrive, the staff were slow to take our food order and we had to ask twice for this too, and after waiting over an hour for our food to arrive we chased this up too only to be told there was a delay with our order and it would take at least another 30 minutes, by this time it was nearing 14.30 and our 6 yr old daughter was starving so we advised the waiter we would not be staying after all. A real pity as we have dined at their sister restaurant in Farnham multiple times and had great meals and service. The location for this place is good though, with onsite parking and a play area for children. The menu looked promising and was reasonably priced (based on the quality we have had in Farnham at least). It looks like the team took on more than they could handle; staff seemed stressed and frustrated especially when directed to tables with starters or a bottle of water yet the tables advised these were not their orders. I hope they iron these issues out or they will find other clients will also vote with their feet.
