We are situated in the village of Hurtmore, near Godalming and Guildford, with easy access just off the A3.

We would like to introduce The NEW Heaven’s Kitchen Steakhouse at The Squirrel Inn
We offer all the same steaks along with some pub classics. In addition, The Squirrel has more to offer, it boasts an outdoor children’s play area, large outside terrace, on-site parking, more range of beers and ales and not only that, it can accommodate larger groups. Come visit us and enjoy a quintessential country pub paired with the best steakhouse in Surrey.

We pride ourselves on locally sourced food and a wide ranging selection of real ales from across the country. In the summer our outside dining areas, all decorated with beautiful hanging flower baskets, really come into their own. It’s the perfect setting for a family gathering or a quiet drink with friends.

We also have letting rooms within our beautifully refurbished 16th Century Cottages

Service was good from the minute we arrived. Service, food and wine was good. A lovely range on the menu. Only slight draw back is the car park which can get a little busy. I really enjoyed the evening.

Excellent quality food. We had the chateaubriand. Great value. Pub was quite noisy and decor looking a bit tired but overall an enjoyable evening.

We were looking forward to a Sunday roast and WOW were we left disappointed. Vegetarian / Vegan option, the roast potatoes are cooked with Goose Fat!!! Not vegetarian / vegan at all, had to have Chips with a roast!? There was no other potato options…. When it finally came, it had a peice of fried chicken on the plate, plus was only lukewarm and the gravy was cold, we had have this sent back and reheated! The cauliflower cheese (which they forgot) arrived as we were finishing!? Poor menu, poor service, asked for the WiFi code when got in and was told that someone would be over to give to us which never happened, two people opposite us ask for something and the waitress yeah we have that and came back within 30 seconds saying “My Bad” we actually don’t have it. Not very professional not great staff and poor food!! We were given £6.95 off of the overall bill. Will not be returning here again.

We had lunch and were very pleased with both the service and the menu - choice of food was exceptional with a very affordable set menu which is ideal for a lunch time. we will be returning soon. Thanks

Unfortunately the food was at best average, the scallops were very poor, cooked coleslaw that sat too long wasn’t inspiring either. The poor waitress seemed to have no support which resulted in poor service but not her fault.

Service started of well which is no surprise as it was very quite, however this changed as the meal progressed even though it was still quite . The food was ok , I was brought up abroad so know my steaks and this was average at best . If I wanted better then the Percy Arms wipes the floor with these guys. I’ve tried Farnham and Hurtmore and wasn’t blown away by either. It’s a shame as I live in Godalming.

The table was booked at 2pm. We arrived at 1:50. We were shown to our table at 2. We were offered to order drinks and food by 2:10. Our drinks arrived and then we waited and waited. At 2:50 the manager arrived to say the chef and a waitress had phoned in sick. The place was packed but nobody was refused a table if one was available or told that food would be late in arriving. At 3 our meal arrived. In the hour we were waiting we saw people getting up after waiting nearly an hour between courses. Some left as soon as their meal arrived. We ordered 30 day old prime sirloin of roast beef. What arrived were strips of meat and grizzle that had been cooked on a griddle. The vegetables were warm and under cooked. We had our drinks and when I said that our meals were inedible we were just charged for the drinks and not £50 for the food. This was the least we could have expected. It was Father's Day and I had booked especially as the reviews online were good and we had eaten there before in February. The whole experience spoilt our day. We went home and cooked a delicious supper. The Manager was trying his best but he should have known there were going to be problems as one of his chefs was absent . He should have said only those who booked could eat or reduce the menu. Beef off for example.

Waited nearly an hour no service, no drinks just too many people booked and not enough staff. Poor very poor!
