We are a Laotian restaurant in the heart of the neighborhood of Shaw. Baan Mae means Mom's house in Laotian. Chef Seng of Thip Khao and Padaek is serving up dishes reminiscent of her home kitchen and her mother's kitchen.

Mom's House Reservation Policy:

All reservations are allowed a 15-minute grace period.

All parties must be present at the restaurant to be seated. If parties are incomplete by the end of the 15-minute grace period, the reservation may be moved to the waitlist upon the completion of the party.

Reservation wait times may be impacted in the case of rain or heat advisory as we will do our best to accommodate patio reservations indoors.

Due to our limited seating capacity, all reservations are limited to a maximum of 90-minute seating time and 2 hours for large parties of 5+.

located in a charming Shaw store front house, the interior was inviting with interesting original paintings of the "Monkey God & his servants." Service was great, waitress friendly and very helpful. Bronzino w/rice, a (raw) shrimp starter, and a drink -- total cost was around $60, I was hungry when I left. The portions were very small so I would not consider it a very good deal. The menu was exotic (at least to me) so perhaps that explains the high cost. My dinner partner complained that there were not pictures of the food on the menu which would have made it easier for him to pick something for dinner.

Superb food and a very nice relaxed vibe. Lots of flavors and unique menu items. Seating is very limited. We reserved a seat at the bar which was very comfortable. Probably not a great choice for a large (5+) group sine there are only two tables for 4 indoors (They close the patio during inclement weather)…. Great place for a date tho…

Very bright and clean flavors, very cosy atmosphere, we sat at the bar and the bar staff were delightful, my kind of place (unpretentious, emphasis on good food).

This was my second time eating here and it was just as good as the first. Food is super yummy, menu changes daily depending on what’s fresh and available. Service is really friendly and helpful at guiding you through the menu. Will come again

We wanted to try this new restaurant on our anniversary and the staff were so kind and accommodating! They brought us a dessert on the house and sat us even after we arrived late. Everything was super delicious and large portion size.

Wonderful food and service! Favorites were the salad and the cod slider, but loved it all. Could use better fans on patio.

The food and service was impeccable, as always! I love coming back to this restaurant and seeing the new dishes that are being continuly added.
