D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Après une journée de dégustation de pinot dans la Willamette Valley, c'est à Hayward, situé dans l'entrepôt de Mac Market, que vous devriez vous arrêter pour manger. Dirigée par le chef Kari Shaughnessy, l'équipe cuisine des animaux entiers, des légumes en saumure, prépare du levain et propose une carte simple mais ambitieuse qui en fait un lieu incontournable de la région. Le restaurant a même été nommé aux James Beard Awards en 2024, révélant ainsi la richesse culinaire de McMinnville.

Philosophie

An enriching culinary experience, we set out to create delicious dinners while following a strict ethos on sourcing. We hold close relationships with all of our farmers and ranchers, making a uniquely personal menu. Dishes change weekly based on what is available on the farm and in the larder. While everything is sourced in a tight radius, the flavors are inspired by our travels and memories.

Every time we dine at Hayward it’s such a pleasure. Kari and the whole team provide a really lovely experience. Dine at Hayward whenever you have the opportunity, as the menu changes regularly. Can’t wait for the next time we visit!

We have been to Hayward several times and each time the food and experience has been nothing short of outstanding. The menu is hyper seasonal and changed frequently, and each menu we have had had been delightful. The tasting menu option is extremely well priced and allows you to taste everything the menu has to offer. This is arguably the best restaurant in Oregon and worth the trip (from Portland) every time. In addition, the whole Mac Market experience is super fun, if you go early you can experience the stores inside if you choose, but overall Hayward is 14/10 and a must try if you have not been.

Our dining experience was wonderful. Reservations are highly recommended. We were seated immediately and our server took our drink requests. I inquired about the spiciness of one dish and our server offered a tasting of the sauce prior to placing my order. My husband & I found the dishes innovative, serving sizes generous and presentation lovely. Save room for the yummy desserts and tea. Our server, Amy, was knowledgeable & attentive. The French wine we ordered was a masterpiece! The ambiance is industrial feeling, but it works. The focus of this restaurant is the fresh ingredients, the high quality of wines and service. This is a return visit and we certainly look forward to many more! Thank you Hayward!

The food is fabulous and the drinks are very nice. The chef prepares dishes that are creative and best shared by the table. The imaginative use of ingredients not normally combined results in tastes that can make your jaw drop. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area when you want excellent food. The only negative is the location of the restaurant itself. While it is tastefully decorated, you cannot ignore that it is located in a large space shared by other businesses. This is a place that deserves quiet, intimate tables and I hope that, at some point, Hayward can find such a place. Go for the food, you won’t regret it!

Welcoming staff; ambiance was warm, a bit austere but not unpleasant at all; very attentive wait staff; food was over the moon! Ordered the crispy pork belly with poblano romesco and chanterelles — it delighted my taste buds; the Parisian gnocchi was equally fabulous — I could not finish because it was just that good— my appetite and hunger for delicious food was sated. Wine selection by the glass was limited but tasty. Would have enjoyed a Pinot noir, this being McMinnville. Chef Kari has this dialed in! Do not miss it.👍👍👍👍

This was wonderful. All the great ferments. Really original pairings to make a dish. Creative. Hostess was great guiding us through everything. Wine recommendation was spot on. We had a cocktail and they were as creative as the meal. I want to see their storage room with everything sitting and brewing for weeks.

Such an amazing dinner! The service was outstanding throughout the evening, and our food was excellent. The flavors were unexpected and delicious together! We also loved our cocktails!!
