   We enjoyed the kickback. Let them decide what to serve us - chef’s choice. What we got was a series of surprises, each one better than the last.

   Such a delicious dining experience! The 4 of us at the table had The Kickback. So. Much. Excellent. Food!! Every plate was a new taste experience and there was not one thing any of us didn't rave over! I highly suggest diners save their $$ and wait until you can order The Kickback. It actually is a good value for all the high quality food served. Our server (blonde hair...) was delightful and helpful when suggesting wines to compliment the courses. I asked if it was possible to slow down the plates arriving so we could savor each dish, and they so kindly obliged. All out fantastic!!

   If you really, really love eating, eat here. Hayward's environment & staff= welcoming, unpretentious, comfortable, roomy, attentive, skilled, friendly. Hayward's food= creative, clever, adventurous, whimsical, surprising, healthful, scrumptious. We wanted to lick our plates clean.

   This place does not have good food. It also has a whack building. It’s very crowded.

   Food (In two words, Best Ever), Service (Server was very knowledgeable, helped guide us thru the menu and genuinely loves the product she's serving!), Overall Experience (would give more than 5 stars if we could), Value (perfect portions for sharing) & Price (excellent price/value and really not even a consideration) all score 5 stars Ambiance I would give a 3. Proof that you should never judge a book by its cover, although such a gem is a bit of a misfit sitting amidst a busy pizza place and market. They are re-locating so not an issue future-state. Hayward is described as "defining new NW cuisine" and based on our Wed night experience, that would be an understatement. On this particular menu, loved the Asian twist from the Raab Tempura (could not get enough of those kombu chips with just the right amount of heat) to the Black Cod w/ginger chips and lentils to an endive salad that was dressed to perfection. And diners would be re-miss not to start with the Sesame focaccia bread made in house. Chef Kari clearly deserves not only to be nominated in James Beard's best NW chef category but more so, deserves to win! Quite possibly, the best food we've had in Oregon and maybe ever!

   Every single bite of every single dish was fantastically perfect! Flavors you would not expect to eat together created delicious bites. Dandelion pesto and celeriac cream together in the Chitara Pasta - wow!! The smoky undertones and light textures in the Cheese Cracker were unexpectedly delicious. One of the best cooked pork chops my husband has ever eaten was accented by squash curry(!) and tempura turnip. We were perfectly full from the 3 dishes we ate so we took home the Sweet Potato Butter Mochi Cake for later. You must try this one, the flavors of each element blended beautifully. All of the staff engaged in their excellent customer experience, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Last but not least, Hayward is an excellent value for fantastic food. Grab your reservation now, you will not be disappointed.

   Kickin Back. Worth every cent. Never skip the focaccia. The service is impeccable and attentive but not intrusive. Such a great place to eat and feel like it’s a special moment….. because every bite is.

   A refreshing experience. Fresh, delicious, exciting. Fine dining with out being stuffy. Everything was on point from the moment you got there until you walked out the door.

    My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience and some delicious food. The Gigante beans was incredible and our favorite dish of the night. Our server Danny was the perfect amount of hospitable and knowledgeable. The steelhead with miso was well balanced and our dessert with sesame ice cream was yummy! Would love to go back sometime soon!
