Nathaniel’s Restaurant at the Hawthorne Hotel offers a perfect start and end to any day. The morning hours are bright with the wall of windows, the plates are creative and include all the Breakfast favorites; Pancakes, Waffles, our Hearty Hawthorne Breakfast, and our Famous house-made Hawthorne Corned Beef Hash!

Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Nathaniel’s transforms into a lounge-like atmosphere, with candles, live piano and acoustic entertainment or ambient music playing from our brass gramophone. Sit beside the baby grand piano, beneath the famed author’s portrait, or in front of the historical culinary tribute cabinet and you will find there is a reason our guests have loved Nathaniel’s Restaurant for decades.

Our Tavern restaurant offers a comfortable pub style atmosphere, with our toasty fireplace and warm ambience, you can't help but sink into our comfy arm chairs, while sipping a hot toddy!

We ate on the Tavern tonight, and it was fabulous! The ambience is perfect, service and food were great! It was Halloween Parade night, so it was packed, yet our service was still great! I wish there were more places like this around, a perfect Tavern vibe.

The meatloaf was tasty, but a bit dry, the shrimp Curry was very good however, there was only two shrimp for $10extra It was a bit much. The service was great and the music from the piano man was really nice.

Totally understaffed…food was just ok for the prices. Long wait to get seated despite having a reservation. Waited a ridiculous amount of time to get waited on, to get menus or a drink and forever for a coffee refill.

We made a reservation for Nathaniel’s and ended up being sat at the tavern. The food was stale tasting, service was slow, definitely won’t go back.

A sound check in the ballroom next door had the tavern pulsating. Also we didn’t get acknowledged or menus right away. We grabbed some menus finally from the empty table next to us just before a waitress came over to take our drink order. Not an awful oversight. Food was great and atmosphere (without the sound check in the next room) is top notch.
