Hawkyns by twice Michelin starred chef Atul Kochhar offers vibrancy, incredible aromas, flavours, textures and an excitement to the picturesque town of Old Amersham. Situated inside The Crown Inn, a mere 5-minutes drive from Amersham tube station on the Metropolitan line, Hawkyns 2 AA rosette restaurant showcases Atul’s Pan-Indian cuisine.

                      We were a little disappointed with the quality of the food given the price. Lamb cutlets starter was very dry. Main courses were okay but a little swamped with sauces. Service was good though

                      You will not be disappointed at Hawkins at The Crown in Amersham but it is a shame it was very quiet and not very busy on a Sunday lunchtime. Prime location.

                      A birthday celebration which was very much enjoyed. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was excellent with even a birthday mousse and candle provided at the end of the evening. Would definitely recommend.

                      We live in the area , and was so excited for our meal together to celebrate a friend’s 60th .. service was good but unfortunately the food let us down .. the Lamb dish was quite tough as we had expected melt in your mouth lamb .. the prices are quite expensive so you do expect the best , but unfortunately we didn’t .. such a shame as a lovely location but we wont be returning to Hawkyns as very over priced for what dishes you get …

                      The online menu was nothing like the printed menu we received at the table so we had to re-choose our options! All the food we and our friends picked was delicious, although the prices were high for the quantity received. And five pounds for a bottle of water is very steep! For a special occasion, it is certainly a tasty and delicious venue, but overall we found it very pricey.

                      There is Indian food and then there is Hawkyns, a real cut above the rest. Excellent quality food, attentive service and well deserving of its reputation. A far shorter menu where attention to detail matters rather than the usual overwhelming options. Definitely worth spending a little more than usual for something better than the standard, and often very good, Indian restaurants.
