Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sunday Roast

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Love the bone marrow, rarely available in the US. Hawksmoor consistently does it right - and absolutely delicious! Sunday roast was a real treat, one of the best meals in town. What I did not like was being charged $9.50 for a 28 oz. bottle of Saratoga sparkling water - that was way out of line.

In a city full of steakhouses (and with a fine and longstanding one literally across the street from me), I've picked Hawksmoor as my steakhouse of choice. The variety and quality of steaks is top notch. I've been known to go alone just so I can enjoy a perfect steak in peace. I will return. Not weekly...it's not priced for regular consumption. But I will keep going back for any occasion that warrants a high-end steak dinner.

The steak and sides brutally oversalted. Cocktails and desserts were great but those alone couldn’t justify the price tag of the meal. Had been looking forward to eating at Hawksmoor for a long time and was very disappointed.

I have been there many times, last night was surprisingly sub par. Food came out cold, very disappointing. service was fine.

Amazing food, now with newly added selections for the non-carnivores. This resturant has some of the best servers in the industry with very attentive management. I can’t imagine anyone leaving less than delighted with their meal and experience. We will continue going back!

Hands down one of the best steakhouse experiences in the city I've ever had. Period. And I've been basically everywhere. Had the porterhouse for two. Cocktail menu off the charts fantastic. Get a seat in the main dinning room if possible. It's a gorgeous room. And management? Don't. Change. Anything. Seriously! Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll earn your place alongside other, already long- established greats like Keens and Wolfgang's. Keep it up! 👍

Excellent beef and sides, in a comfortable club setting. Mondays $10 corkage fee offers great value.
