Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sunday Roast

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

The food it’s a heavenly experience flavours are intense however everything it’s rightly balanced we had a great time ! The lousiana shrimp was worth the visit alone!

Overall good experience. I got the filet medium well but it was more well done & a little salty. The mashed potatoes & gravy and Mac & cheese were very good. The appetizer T-bone lamb was very good! I enjoyed that way more than the steak.

The quality of steak is undeniably top quality. The space is beautifully done, but there needs to be more sound absorbing surfaces. Too noisy to carry on a comfortable conversation. The bar staff needs to have better knowledge of the gin selection.

I wanted try the burger for a while. I was told they did not have it cause the oven was down. So they could not bake the bread. A few minutes after I was told that a man sitting 2 tables down was served the burger. Not sure why that happened. I later seen the post okay. instagram. I been wanting to go to hawksmoor for some time Now to try the burger. But they did not make it for me. Overall eveything else was amazing.

I ordered the lunch steak frites and it was very underwhelming. The steak was over cooked and I asked for a medium steak it was well done. The fries were ok. The reason this experience wasn’t great is because I asked for a side or peppercorn sauce thinking a condiment is free not at all. For peppercorn sauce the size of a ketchup packet they charge you $7 and they will not tell you. Not mentioning it’s a $7 add on is just rude. Because there is little value in it. Anyway I won’t be eating there again.

food great. Been 5 times, and steaks are terrific. service "ok" ( server disapeared for long periods) I'm not sure there is a louder restaurant i have ever been to. By 9pm is was tolerable... but super hard to have conversation. The acoustics are atrocious. I keep hoping they will do something.. as the steaks are great.
