Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

The service team is one of the best in NYC. Everyone is knowledgable, fun, warm, and efficient making it truly a pleasure to dine at Hawksmoor.

Food and service were very good. Steaks were good. Nice to have an unpretentious steakhouse in NYC. Sides a bit small considering family style steaks are offered. Priced appropriately for the quality-good but not excellent. Would come back.

Very mediocre in most areas. Steak wasn't done to the temperature we asked for. Waiter probably had too many tables because he was gone for a very long time between giving us menus and coming back to take order. Overall nothing was done particularly better than less expensive restaurants. Wouldn't come back

I wanted to share some feedback about my recent dining experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, I found the steak difficult to cut, which made it less enjoyable. I ordered two medium-rare steaks, but the doneness was inconsistent—one was slightly overcooked, while the other was undercooked. Additionally, the steaks were not very hot when served, giving the impression they had been sitting out for some time before being brought to the table.

Took me a long time to get a reservation here so I was really ready for a fabulous experience. I have to say that it‘s certainly a little different than the typical steakhouse, and their large and very noisy main room reminds me of nothing more than a boy’s locker room. Gregarious and very pleasant wait service. Was waiting for the charcoal flavor mentioned in reviews that never seemed to materialize, but meat quality was excellent. Generally, just, eh, what’s the fuss all about….?

My friend and I sat at the bar for dinner and drinks. Tye and Jonathan were absolutely incredible!!! Dinner was delicious and the cocktails were phenomenal. My friend and I will definitely be back! I got to the bar before my friend and was trying to save an extra seat. Jonathan quickly placed a menu and reserved sign at the seat so that I didn’t have to worry about my friends seat getting snatched. Thank you for the incredible experience!!! We will be back!

Food lives up to the social media hype. The Ultimate French 75 was amazing! But..it was extremely loud and it is Manhattan so prices were a bit high but well worth it. Want to go back for the burger at the bar!

The food is excellent, but for the prices, the service could have been a bit more refined. Lacked a level of professionalism and politeness that most restaurants in this price range need to have. However, the support staff, such as the manager and food runners, were good and made the experience much better than it would have been. Probably will be back.

Was chilly seating by bar. The area we sat in was experiencing periodic door opening due to deliveries. We should have been informed prior to seating that this would be happening.
