Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sunday Roast

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Only reason why i cant give full 5 stars is because i was dying to try the sirloin on the bone and at the time we got there (9 pm) they where out of most cuts to share.. besides that, cowboy was amazing and fillet as well… amazing beefy flavour and doneness… we visited from mexico and are hoping to be back soon..

The dining room is beautiful. The noise level is terrible. You cannot hear the people across from you. The steak was too salty and overpriced. The sides were tiny. The service was nice.

Great atmosphere. Decent steaks. Portion sizes on the sides are ridiculously small. Almost so small that it’s a practical joke. Not commensurate with what is expected at a high end steakhouse.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal at Hawksmoor. The service was excellent and the scallop starter along with the bone marrow oysters, set the tone for the rest of the meal. We ordered a porterhouse and it was cooked perfectly and was more enough to share between the two of us. We definitely recommend going here at least once while you’re in the city.

Great location, excellent service, we had a member of our party with some allergies and the server stored everything out nice and clear which helps in those tricky situations. Food was of a high standard, now been to restraints in London and New York, all good David

Sunday Roast is a must here. Nice portion and so delicious. As soon as you enter through the front door you can smell the deliciousness. Drinks a bit pricy but well made.

We had a great experience! The server was so sweet and the food was fabulous. Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner, especially if you are celebrating a special event.

OMG!!! I took my mom and aunt for my aunts birthday and we had an incredible time. The staff was so sweet and kind and knowledgeable. All the food was so delicious and beautifully prepared. The drinks…magnificent, I especially appreciate the time and care put into developing the non-alcoholic menu as I don’t drink alcohol.
