Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

We were their for Sunday Roast. The 3 pieces of meat and gravy were excellent, albeit you have to like cold meat. The sticky pudding was visually pleasing as well as tasty. However the Yorkshire pudding cold and incredibly chewy. The potatoes and carrots needed a chainsaw to cut in two, also cold. One of our guests received one potato, but did not want to draw attention to the fact, he said it was an omen as he is on a diet. The rest of our table received two... I had an Earl Grey Ice tea, no flavor of tea or Earl Grey whatsoever. Staff is professional and sincerely friendly. Noise level prevented conversations, sad as it was a birthday celebration. Considering the $48.00 price tag for Sunday Roast and $10.00 for Ice Tea sad that I had so much expectations around this restaurant

Hawksmoor continues to deliver! This was my 4th visit in a year. Go for the meats & vibes, but don’t sleep on the sides, salads, drinks, and dessert. The beet salad - I could have eaten two! Props to JJ for spectacular service - approachable and professional. Thank you Team Hawksmoor for making my 15th wedding anniversary dinner truly special.

Shared a 26oz porterhouse, 3 oysters, the scallops, and the bone marrow and it was all extremely delicious. The beef fat fries were great too. For dessert, definitely recommend the pretzel sundae. The service was outstanding as everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. The building is beautiful as well

Gorgeous space with soaring ceilings and beautiful architectural details. Carefully crafted inventive cocktails. Delicious rump steaks, porterhouse and burgers.

Spent the entire night looking for our servers. When they were there they were uninterested in helping first timers orient to ordering or the menu Meaningful portions of the steak menu were sold out for a 8pm friday reservation Steaks arrived dry and poorly cooked Sides were cold Desserts ordered never arrived. We won't be back :(
