Was as good as ever. Steak was cooked to perfection and of course the Shakey Pete cocktail is legendary. Service was very prompt and friendly

I went here recently for my graduation dinner. I won’t lie I used to work here, yet despite having tried almost everything on their menu for free, when I had the choice of any restaurant in Edinburgh for my graduation dinner I still wanted to come here. The food is genuinely outstanding. Not only that, the service and atmosphere is something else. Whether it’s your graduation or you’re squeezing a quick course in before a fringe show they make you feel like it’s your birthday. Highly highly recommend.

Service was outstanding with an excellent wine and spirits selection. Steaks were very good with equally good sides. Reminded me of a Morton’s or Ruth Chris if you are from the States.

We had a wonderful celebratory lunch at Hawksmoor Edinburgh. The food was outstanding and Lydia made the whole experience really special.

2nd visit by myself this time for the Sunday roast. The environment was amazing, as always—elegant and spacious. Waited a while for someone to take my order (16 mins.) My medium rare roast was surprisingly tough to chew. And the “gravy” was more like oil with stuff on the bottom than gravy (maybe use an emulsifier?) I’m also pretty sure they forgot about the side of stuffing I ordered. The roast potatoes were wonderful, however—you can really taste the beef dripping flavor. After I finished my meal, nobody came to take away my plates and gave me the bill or ask if I wanted any dessert. After waiting for a while, I finally flagged down someone for it. When the bill came, I was charged with two drinks I didn’t order. But that was sorted out promptly. I want to clarify that my first experience here for dinner was much more pleasant. So, I’d just like to bring this somewhat disappointing experience, which I assume is an exception, to the team’s attention.

Excellent food and even better service. We had been to Hawksmoor Seven Dials before and this visit was equally if not more enjoyable.

Waited well over an hour for our food to arrive. I ordered cod with summer veg, I was told this didn’t come with potatoes, so ordered side of potatoes, ended up with double potatoes and the meal was cold. Friend’s steak came pink, when she clearly asked for it be butterflied and well done. We didn’t complain, as the group were visiting Edinburgh and I’d taken them there as a treat, so didn’t want to ruin the evening. The wait staff appeared to change half way through the meal. I also find the interior a bit gloomy. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Probably the most overpriced and disappointing meal I’ve had in a while.
