The festive season at Hawksmoor is all about going big. Sharing steaks. Magnums. All the sides. We know some of you like to make a little space for healthier choices in the new year. So, we’re easing you into 2025 with a lunch option that’s good for the body, mind, and bank balance. For January only, enjoy a lean Rump steak and a virtuous side – English lettuce salad, Spinach, Sweet potatoes or (no judgement) indulge with our Beef dripping chips or Caesar salad – for £19.50

We had been treated to a voucher for £175. Five of us had the Sunday roast with 2 sides of stuffing and 2 sides of mac n cheese. We had drinks (not bottles of wine) but no starter or dessert. Our bill on top of the £175 we paid by voucher was another £175. For 4 glasses of white, a few ciders and 3 Guinness I think the drinks are priced excessively. It's a nice place but we wouldn't rush back. It's not value for money other than the roast dinner which is reasonable. A shame as staff are nice and attentive and great location. Just felt a bit ripped off in the end. We're used to eating out in Edinburgh and feel plenty other choices for far less £.

Food tasty as always - highlight was our lovely server Ana - she was well able to explain everything and offer suggestions. She was attentive and professional and just really genuine and helpful. Thanks- we’ll ask to be seated in her section especially.

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had in incredible surroundings with a buzzy atmosphere and great service. Superb bottle of French red too.

Lovely service and decent food but was £225 for my wife and I and we were absolutely freezing cold. Breezes coming in from both entrance doors and bar door. Ended up eating dinner with a scarf and jacket on whilst paying handsomely for the privilege.

I booked a table for me, my wife and two sons for a late Saturday afternoon £19.99 steak and sides at Hawksmoor, Edinburgh. We love the restaurant have been plenty of times before at different times of the day and sampled many different meals. Todays offer was a rump steak and side for £19.99 each. We all went for chips, bone marrow sauce, garlic mushrooms, spinach and maccaroni & cheese. The initial service was quick, our table was waiting for us and drinks orders were taken and supplied immediately. We also ordered food easily, however some of our order was missing and had to be re-ordered thus arriving after the other food. 3 out of the four dishes were perfect, but one of the steaks had a piece of fat in it that was inedible, which is the first time in many visits that this has happened here. The other steaks and sides were absolutely delicious. We followed the mains up with sticky toffee puddings which were great and some coffees. We will definitely be back, but we hope the food will be back to full 5* standards next time.
