This is the second time Grant has served us. He really is a great asset for Hawksmoor. Very friendly and keen to make sure you have a great time whilst there. Food was great too as was the blended Hawksmoor Tinto.

We waited an hour on our meal, service was slow and couldn’t differentiate between staff and customers due to them not wearing a uniform. Meal was crap.

We were the first people in the restaurant just before 12 and after having to ask where our food was, we started eating just after 1pm. I will note that a family seated after us had eaten, paid their bill and left before we got our food. The sides were warm, not hot. And my medium rare steak was much closer to well done than I’d ever want it. I was nervous to ask for it to be changed due to the amount of time we had to wait in the first place and at this point was very hungry. The burgers that others had were very good so no complaints there at all. The service was fine, staff seemed friendly enough but in this day and age of having so many good restaurants to compete with in Edinburgh, is fine service and food that was okay going to cut it? Doubtful.

The lighting was quite dim and it was a busy Friday night. The service was absolutely sublime, our waiter was Max who was incredibly kind and made sure we were well taken care of as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We will be back...

It is probably one of the best steaks I have ever had, I will go back and order the same again hoping it will be as good. Overall the food from the starters to the desserts was excellent and we enjoyed every bit. My only downside was the proximity we were to other diners, we had a table for 2 and where we sat, there were a couple on either side of us and we could hear every word of their conversations, a little more space would have been ideal, Overall a great experience

A bit over rated, cocktail and starters were dull, scallops a bit tasteless, ribs were dry. Steak was decent, beef dripping chips were disappointing

Excellent. A little pricey but very nice, top quality food and service. We were a little early, but it was very slow night with few guests. Strangely, we were made to wait at the bar anyhow; maybe to encourage a pre drink (we had already been out for a couple). The plus side is that a young lady at the bar took a good time to help us choose a wine for dinner. We sampled several. Outstanding night.
