The LaSalle Drive Cable Car Powerhouse is a beautiful, designated landmark, initially opened in 1887, in the heyday of Chicago’s cable car system. We intend to do it justice by restoring the original features to their former glory and, at the same time, breathe new life into the space.

Underwhelming. Be aware that the steals are “Charcoal fired” versus infrared… lacks the sear and end up drier. Interior is more “appleby’s” feel than high end steakhouse. Very loud.

Our first time there. Service cocktails food or all amazing. Loved the bone marrow oysters and the.Asian inspired ones. Scallops a must. All steaks we great. Love the bone marrow sauce. And they make a very nice French 75 cocktail.🍸

The restaurant is beautiful, however the food and service we're average. We like a ribeye, however ours lacked the flavor and juiciness you would expect from a steak that we paid $110 for. The side dishes were average as well. Our server was efficient, but not engaging and interactive, as you would expect from a high end steak house. We will not go back. Average meal for a high price.

We had such a lovely dining experience on a Friday night we decided to cancel our Saturday reservations at another steakhouse to return to Hawksmoor. Once again, it did not disappoint! We were greeted with a lovely spicy watermelon cocktail that was zippy and tasty! We were toasted for our return. We ordered some of the same faves, fried shrimp and pork belly, along with some sourdough. Then our waiter brought us some scallops to the table. It was hands down, everyone’s favorite! I went with the Halibut and it was melt in your mouth delicious! Others at the table shared rib eye that did not even come close to disappointing. Sides of tomatoes, sister spinach, beef dripping fries!! Mac and cheese. All delicious! The drinks are a must as well! Malört Martinez is spectacular! Can’t wait to be back in the city soon to enjoy another spectacular dinner at Hawksmoor! Thanks Amir for your excellent service!

Oh my what a wonderful addition to the Chicago restaurant scene. Service was 5 star. All the staff are super but special shout out to Kyle and Oscar who made this a special trip for us from our Edinburgh home and usual Edinburgh Hawksmoor. Great cocktails and wine (the cherry negroni!!!). We enjoyed the pork belly starter, then the veal chop (pink) which was delicious with chips and a Mac & cheese side. To finish we shared an atomic sundae. The restaurant is set in a quirky building that was previously a cable car powerhouse.
