Welcome to Hawksmoor Chicago, where we bring our acclaimed steakhouse experience from the UK to the iconic LaSalle Powerhouse in River North. Our ethos is simple: ‘Buy the best and let it shine.’ We serve all-natural, pasture-reared, dry-aged beef from US family-run farms, cooked over charcoal and seasoned simply with sea salt. Our seafood, sourced from trusted Northeastern fishermen, is prepared with equal care.

In our 16,500 sq ft space, featuring barrel-vaulted ceilings and touches from the Golden Age of Travel, Hawksmoor is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by for cocktails, a casual lunch or a special celebration, we make sure you leave full and happy. We also offer private dining for groups of 10 to full venue buy-outs for 500—ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and corporate events.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

With names inspired by prize cattle, we have created sharing menus featuring our favorite iconic and seasonal dishes, at a range of prices to best suit your occasion. Please see pictures below for menu choices details. Menus are all served family-style - with the steaks cooked to order, sliced and served in cast-iron skillets with our legendary sides and sauces. Have you heard of our Monday Wine Club? It’s a simple concept: bring any wine you like – doesn’t matter if it’s a first-growth Bordeaux or a bottle of Barefoot – and we’ll only charge you $10 corkage (for up to two bottles). Not sure what to buy? Take a stroll over to our neighbors at the Aqua Wine & Spirits store (they’re literally on the other side of the street) and they’ll help you choose something to make your meal pop. You can even call us ahead of time and ask one of our somms what they suggest.

Cocktail Hour is kind of a big deal here at Hawksmoor. From 5 till 7pm, Monday to Friday, you can grab a selection of our world-class cocktails for a cool $12 – and we’re doing our freshly shucked Island Creek oysters for just $2 a pop. Try Chicago’s coldest martini – we serve ours at a bracing 10°f – with spicy Scotch Bonnet Oysters or our Wicklow Old Fashioned with charcoal-roasted bone marrow oysters. The best bit? No reservations required – just swing by when it suits you. Of course, if you’d like to stay for dinner, you can book a table any time.

My bestie and I went for dinner and we’re absolutely amazed. Everyone was great from the moment we walked in the door. John T. (Asst. GM) was so welcoming and gave a great overview of the restaurant’s history. Our servers Kimberly and her husband (Amir?) were beyond amazing! Best service I’ve had in years. Food, PHENOMENAL! Great recommendations and everything we tasted was beyond our expectations. Looking forward to returning.

Our 1st visit was positive. The staff is friendly, professional and responsive. The food is good and u would suggest typical of many higher end steak houses in Chicago. The drink and wine prices are high although typical of similar type of restaurants. There is a happy hour (5:00 - 7:00) but the number of cocktails that qualify for happy hour prices is limited.

The service was outstanding. Every member of the Hawksmore serving team was “spot on” great attitudes, excellent knowledge and did not miss a beat. My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and the staff made us feel really cared for every step of the experience.

It was our first time dining at Hawksmoor and the food and service did not disappoint. As soon as we checked in at FOH, we were warmly greeted by the staff. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation and we were asked if we could sit at the bar for the time being while they make sure guests with earlier reservations were taken care of. We were shown to the bar & ordered drinks at the bar but about 5 minutes in, our table was ready so the bartender brought our drinks to us. Rachel & her colleague (whose name escapes me) took really good care of us. They were attentive during our time there and made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. My husband and I both ordered the Sunday roast and it was delicious. At first, my husband was thinking it wasn't going to be enough food since there were 2 slices of the roast but in the end, it was the right amount. The beef was tender and flavorful especially when we smeared roasted garlic on. The gravy was delicious so much so that Rachel ended up giving us an extra helping of the gravy. The roasted carrots were tender and sweet, the roasted potatoes had this crispy exterior and creamy interior. The Yorkshire pudding was a good size and delicious. My husband ordered the sour cherry america(no) mocktail and it looked like an old fashioned, I had a sip (or two) of his drink and it was delicious. I ordered the Five Alive cocktail and it's one of my top favorite cocktails. For dessert, I ordered the hot chocolate tart with brown butter ice cream and my husband had the peanut butter Louis. He said his dessert was splendid. It appeared hard to cut but it was not. He said it was creamy and had the perfect level of sweetness. The hot chocolate tart was the same thing, perfectly baked and the sweetness was just right. Even the ice cream that went with each dessert complimented them perfectly. We will definitely be back to Hawksmoor.

The food was OK. A bit disappointing. The meat was tough and vegitables were bitter. Gravy and Bone Marrow were amazing as was the service.

I’m doing dry February so I had two mocktails which were really good and I would order again even if I was back on my drinking kick. Sour Cherry America(no) which was so good and the Grape Escape which was served with 3 red grapes on a toothpick. The Fried Louisiana Shrimp was crispy and delicious. While the Vietnamese oysters were tangy with a little spice to it that I enjoyed. My filet (10oz) was really good and cooked to the temperature I asked. The peppercorn sauce amazing and elevated the steak to a new level. The sides were 50/50 as I really liked the macaroni and cheese, but wouldn’t get the creamed spinach again. The highlight of the meal though was the Stick Toffee Sundae! That was 10 out of 10. They just need to serve it in a better vessel

Wonderful. Have been twice and both times food and service excellent! Previously dined at two locations in London and was delighted to have Hawksmoor come to Chicago.

This was our fist time dining at The Hawksmoore. Our server guided us in making the perfect choices for our table of 2 couples. We each ordered our steak of preference and added the mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach. Appetizers she recommended were scallops-delicious! and shrimp which I would skip as they were hard to peel. Everything was excellent and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Sticky toffee pudding and maple pie will make us go back!
