This is a dark venue where you will need your torch to read the menu in the evening! We never normally complain about food but for the price they charge, the food was poor. The steak was full of gristle and we were told could only be medium when we wanted medium rare. I asked for buttered spring greens with monkfish, which was chewy, and was given watery cabbage. The waiter apologised and said he should have told us it was cabbage. I had 3 scallops at £21 for starter which said were in a white port and garlic butter. They were instead covered in a cheesy crumb which over powered the scallops. The steak was taken off the bill and the waiter was very apologetic. We will not be returning or recommending Hawksmoor to anyone. As for the cocktails, they are presented on the smallest glass I’ve ever seen!

I know that the running costs are high and that has to be reflected in the menu prices, but in my opinion the sides and the wine were too expensive for lunchtime.

I have dinned in most of the Hawksmoore restaurants and this was one of my least favourite experiences. I had to send my starter back and the service was not up to the usual high standards that I have come to expect at Hawksmoore. On a positive note the wine was excellent

We shared a delicious Chateaubriand with a bottle of red and side and though while not cheap, it was a delicious meal served by very gracious and attentive servers. Perfect date night.

I have been to Hawksmoor many times. The food tasted lovely but the meat portion on the Sunday roast was tiny. I had 2 very small slices of beef. I would return for the steaks, but I will not be returning for a Sunday roast. Adding a giant Yorkshire pudding and far too many vegetables does not make up for a tiny serving of the main component of the Hawksmoor Sunday Roast, the beef. Really disappointing for something I had been really looking forward to.
