Myself and a friend had a nice time at the borough restaurant, we had the monk fish and steak and the food was delicious and the service was outstanding.

Glorious as ever. Fabulous food - I had all vegetarian food and my guest had fish. They do this as brilliantly as the steak. Wonderful staff- both servers and front of house. Always a treat!

There were four people dining, and three chose the roast. The roast potatoes were quite small and very hard, not at all enjoyable and not up to the usual standards. The roast beef was quite a small portion considering the cost. Service generally was good, albeit a little slow. We were rushed out only 5 minutes after having our coffee which felt somewhat rude, the person who did this was not present at our table until this point.

I’d like to start by saying that the food was great and the cocktails were delicious. However, we were seated late and then when it came to us ordering our food, we were advised that because there is a limited time on our table, we should not order the dish we want (the chateaubriand prime cut) because it would take 30 mins to come out and we probably wouldn’t have enough time to eat it. So we went for the classic roast on our waiters advice. Unfortunately, that also took about 30 minutes to come out. We were a bit disappointed that we didn’t order what we actually wanted - and we were also given regular updates of the time we had left (which if I’m honest, made us feel like we were not a priority, that all they were concerned about was making sure the people due at the table after us were ok). We did eventually mention that we were seated late and they gave us an extension on our table for 10 minutes, but it all felt very rushed, like there was little care to our experience. We were told by a manager that someone would be in contact after but we have not heard from them since.

Great service, had asked for a quieter table for a birthday lunch, front of house so helpful, checked with me before seating to make sure table was suitable, so helpful even though it as a busy Sunday lunchtime. Bar staff again so helpful , this continued with our waiter Peter who could not do enough to make it a special occasion, surprising the birthday boy with a dessert and candle, just what everyone wants even when you’re 69🥳, food was delicious, 10/10 on all counts! Thank you!

I've been to Hawksmoor numerous times and it's my go-to 'treat' restaurant. This is the very first time something has been not totally perfect with the food — my rare steak came as a medium. I felt awful sending it back as it was a busy night, but my hostess and the management were extremely accommodating and apologetic and absolutely made up for it. They handled the situation well and it wouldn't put me off coming back again. Also, as always, in love with the Rolos.

What a fabulous dining experience in London. Staff, food and atmosphere was 10/10. Book in advance of coming here as it is not surprisingly busy 😊
