It's our homage to the classic Full English breakfast - but with the ultimate Hawksmoor treatment. It's available every Saturday, 11:45 am -3 pm, at Air Street, London. Wow what can we say. We must have walked past this place on so many occasions and totally missed it. We came here on a recommendation. As soon as you walk in downstairs you receive a warm welcome at check in. Head on upstairs and again you are greeted with a warm smile and welcome. The restaurant is large and goes quite a long way back, but the noise level is perfect. The service was first class from start to finish, everyone is so attentive. As soon as you are seated, you are given your menus and your drinks order taken, water is also put on the table and poured for you and topped up throughout your meal. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and went through the whole menu with us, offering recommendations along the way. Now if you are a lover of seafood then the starters are right up your street, although there are other dishes on offer, but we decided to skip and go straight for mains. We had wanted to have Chateaubriand for a while now, but we differ slightly on how we prefer it cooked but our waiter was an absolute star and advised how we could get round it - it comes sliced so if you wanted it more cooked then go for the outside slices, we accompanied this with beef dripping fries which were amazing, creamed spinach and buttered greens - the whole meal was a taste buds sensation. Dessert was Peach Melba Pavlova and Clotted Cream Ice Cream - a delicious way to end the meal. We have never had service and a meal that absolutely blew us away and we will definitely be going back.

This establishment was fantastic. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and we both know a lot about wine so we were asking in depth questions to determine which pairing we would prefer. The waiter brought out the sommelier to help us choose, and she gave us a tasting to help us choose. She also then brought out an extra glass of wine for his birthday and to go with our food. The bartender also made us a custom cocktail based off of our outfits. They made us feel special from start to finish.

Brilliant start, accommodating x2 extra guests, but the food service and standard of the steak itself was below par for this venue, which has always been a very good/solid standard

Never Again Do not go to this restaurant if you want to have a conversation with the people at your table. The noise level was so loud I could hardly hear myself think, never mind try to have a conversation with the person sitting right next to me. The tables are packed in and the restaurant itself is all wood - lovely to look at but there's nothing to absorb the sound - it just reverberates around the room. We booked for a graduation celebration. We received our starters without much delay and then waited over an hour for the main meals to appear. When they didn't, we finally attracted our server's attention and he went to check what had happened. It seems there was some problem with the order going in. Then the manager came over to apologise and tell us that the meals would be out shortly. When they came, it was just meat on a plate, not even a salad leaf. For the price of the meals it seems a bit stingy. I understand that this sort of mistakes can happen and that's not why my rating is so poor, it is purely based on the noise level of the place and the fact that the tables are so close together. So ambience was awful, food was okay. Overall, in my opinion, not worth the price of the evening.

We arrived 10mins earlier than the actual booking. We were told to sit whilst the table was being cleaned. In all fairness, they gave us some water whilst waiting. However, we noticed that the guests who arrived after us were offered a table straight away. We thought they maybe part of an existing party. However, not until 3-4 groups of people after whom had table offered, we had to query our table. That was the time they realised we were waiting that long! To our surprise, the person said “we’ll just currently cleaning the table and it’ll be ready for you”. No sorry for waiting?? Fair enough the restaurant was busy but I think it’s unfair for us to wait 30mins in total to get a table for two? The suffering didn’t end here. We ordered two roast dinners (lovely as usual) but the waiter said “the gravies will be served straight away”. Whilst waiting for the said gravies, there were trays full of orders (with their respective gravies) flying here and there being served. We had to wait 5 minutes and that because we had to ask someone to for the gravy. Roast started to get cold. Overall, food was nice but the service was shocking!

We are big Hawkesmoor fans and try and go whenever we possible. Beautiful food as always. Staff were lovely.
