Hawksmoor Air Street, restaurant de biftecks et de fruits de mer avec 235 places, vous propose une carte également divisée entre le poisson, les fruits de mer et les célèbres biftecks qui ont fait de Hawksmoor l'un des restaurants préférés des londoniens. Le grand bar à cocktails avec 50 places fonctionne selon une horaire de « toddy timetable », vous proposant des cocktails adaptés à chaque heure de la journée. Le restaurant est très lumineux, grâce à dix fenêtres en vitrail voûtées et hautes comme le plafond qui vous donneront une vue sur la Regent Street. Food was great, gorgeous beef done to perfection, a wonderful gravy, even enjoyed the cabbage. And the stuffing was top notch. Service was just right, kind and helpful, knowledgeable, unfussy. Lovely building too, the art deco styling was really enjoyable. Only drawback was how incredibly noisy it was. So noisy it was difficult to have a conversation with my dining partner. Not sure what you could do about it, but I wouldn't go back I'm afraid.

Food was very very good as always. Bit sad that the Mac and cheese was not available, that’s the best side! Service was not quite up to the usual Hawksmoor standard; things were a little slow and felt a bit chaotic in there like they weren’t quite on top of things.

The side dishes were amazing especially the garlic mushrooms! The delivery of our food was speedy and efficient which was great. However for a steak restaurant the quality of the steak wasn’t great tough to cut and chewy, even with it cooked medium. The Waitrose wasn’t sure what was gluten free and seemed to have little knowledge about the menu but did eventually come out with a full list of food I could eat. No gluten free bread available, which was a shame bearing in mind. Put it on the booking I was gluten free 2 months ago. Overall nice restaurant the wine was nice but would go somewhere else for a decent steak.

After seeing all the YouTube videos about Hawksmoor, expectations were sky-high. It was good but not exceptional. The staff doesn't wear uniforms but private clothes, which is unusual for a restaurant. The staff is running back and forth and is quick to refill your water, and for this, you pay an "optional" 12,5% service fee. I don't feel it is optional, and I prefer the system where you can enter tips on the card terminal. We went for the Express menu, which had three starters, main courses, and desserts. You can choose two dishes for £29 or three for £33, which is quite attractive. We decided on the potted meat and bacon starter, which was both delicious and a rather big serving. The rump steak was tasty but a bit tough, and it didn't come with any sauce (you can order sauce separately). The watercress salad was fresh, though. We decided on different desserts, but the passionfruit Pavlova was refreshing. The restaurant is boisterous, and this is not where to have an important conversation.

Food was excellent as per, service was a little slow, but perhaps they didn’t want to be too intrusive. The only let down was that they added on a charity donation without prior knowledge or consent which I think was a very distasteful thing to do. It completely brings a bitter taste to what had otherwise been a wonderful evening.
