In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries.

Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. A place for our community to gather and share food and drink that are crafted of the finest in-season regional ingredients.

Great baked clams and the pork chop was amazing. Was our 3rd time and our server Amanda ( she cares that you have a great experience) recommended perfect dishes. Will definitely be back.

A very nice restaurant with delicious dishes & a very friendly staff. The owner told us a little history of the neighborhood & how his restaurant was named to honor the towns history. Very enjoyable evening. Thankyou

This is how a restaurant should be run Friendly, accommodating, and the food backed it all up .not a bad thing to say about Haviland, will definitely be back

Service was good . Drink were fine .but I’m sorry to Say , not a good meal at all . The Brick chicken unfortunately was burnt . Overly Smothered in some type of gravy and topped with a tremendous amount of greens .( don’t know what they were ) Would not order again . Skin very soggy had to peal it off and that’s my favorite part ! potatoes mushy . I didn’t finish my meal . My friend ordered a burger , overcooked and dry . She as well didn’t finish her meal . No doggy bags needed ! Baked clams were very dry and crumbly , needed a spoon to eat . Not worth coming back .

This was our first time and we will definitely be back! The food was amazing - the calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked. I had the bolognese and it didn’t disappoint! Can’t wait to try it again!
