Hav & Mar is a vibrant seafood house from Chef Marcus Samuelsson located in the renowned arts district of Chelsea, NYC. The stunning dining room and dazzling bar, a mix of contemporary and classical design, features original work throughout by award-winning artist Derrick Adams. Chef Samuelsson and Executive Chef Fariyal Abdullahi's energetic and globally inspired menu focuses on thoughtfully sourced seafood and seasonal greenmarket produce. Gracious hospitality, show-stopping cocktails, and a groundbreaking wine list spotlighting BIPOC and female producers contribute to Hav & Mar's convivial and festive atmosphere. D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Combinant son enfance suédoise et ses origines éthiopiennes, le célèbre chef Marcus Samuelsson offre aux New-yorkais·es un lieu innovant de cuisine fusion mettant les fruits de mer à l'honneur, et qui ne pouvait que venir de lui. Went late evening on Wed. The place was still somewhat full. The service unfortunately was uneven. We ordered the breadbasket- great, ceviche - small portion, a little too much liquid, nice presentation but taste wasn't memorable - didn't know if it was trying to be highly refined or casual. Waited 20 minutes or more for entrees after finishing the appetizers.

Very interesting menu offerings in an exquisitely decorated venue. Having dined at other Marcus Samuelsson restaurants, we had high hopes for another exceptional dining experience but Hav & Mar was just okay. It was good, but just okay.

Very happy to try out a Marcus restaurant in NYC. I was impressed by the service and the locale. Interesting food options. I especially liked the injera chip and the crab rice.

Superb, the octopus, chicken and the pear desert were fantastic. Great atmosphere and service, would highly recommend. If I lived here, I'd be back to try everything on the menu.

Cornbread was incredible and I’m convinced the seafood cavatelli is one of the best pasta dishes you’ll find anywhere. A lot to explore on the menu - I’ll definitely be back.
