Combinant son enfance suédoise et ses origines éthiopiennes, le célèbre chef Marcus Samuelsson offre aux New-yorkais·es un lieu innovant de cuisine fusion mettant les fruits de mer à l'honneur, et qui ne pouvait que venir de lui. Ces deux influences culinaires se conjuguent à merveille dans des plats tels que le saumon saumuré à la berbère accompagné d'eau de pomme et d'avocat, qui a valu à cet établissement prestigieux de Chelsea deux étoiles dans le New York Times. Spectacular food, well conceived, well presented, well spiced - we ate every morsel. The staff was incredibly attentive, very knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time talking to us. Not inexpensive in the least, but well worth the price.

Needed a last minute reservation for a special occasion and this was a meal to remember, stunning menu with creative combinations that really paid off. Thanks to Zach, Chef and the team, will be back to try happy hour!

The service was excellent, the ambience was good, but the food was a massive disappointment. They Swediopian was good and interesting because of the flavors, the hamachi fair because there was no taste (forgot the salt maybe?), the ocean salad was not dressed enough but the calamari was good, the mushroom curry was forgettable, the havatini 2.0 was good, the branzino was tasteless. The dessert was the most disappointing. The peach cobbler had no character. The cheesecake was better but nothing to write home about. Note: please tell your servers to warn folks that the peach cobbler cast iron pot is still hot. One of us got burned. Our primary server was very attentive and kind to us. He was top notch in treating the situation. We took our time to go there (not to mention saved money to be there) because of the highlight on tv and what we read about you on your website. Your PR and waitstaff are excellent but please back it up by consistent good cooking in the future. You have a great opportunity.

Food was excellent - wonderfully interesting flavors and lovely presentation. Service was great as well. Music was the only minor flaw … a little distractingly loud.

Atmosphere and ambience was great! Love the esthetics and service. The staff is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks, as well as good information regarding the restaurant offerings for HH, etc. the bartender assistant offered me and my partner a small Champagne toast for my birthday 🥳 . I’m a foodie so this was a little on the pricey fair quality as I’m only pescatarian which is why someone recommended this place to me and my partner bc we only eat fish and seafood.. I’ve had better quality for the prices at this place. For example, on the small plates menu, $26 for 2 scallops! 🤨🙄 then really think about combinations, flavor as seafood don’t need additional seasonal however they were tasty! The HAVATINI was not cooked well enough for me and my guest who is a great chef in his own right. Not many beer choices for an upscale restaurant, where are the great local or imported beers? The wine list was ok, don’t have great wines from the many BIPOC Wine owners or women lead wineries. Think about pairing better wines with menu and hire or consult with professional certified Sommelier. Overall a good experience and perhaps I’ll go again to try something different on the menu. A nice birthday dinner though.

Loved it! Our first dinner at Hav & Mar, but we will be back. Excellent service, lively ambience. Recommended dishes: cornbread, tuna tartare, char, mushroom curry, and tres leches cake.
